  • completly beat it rip off

  • Nigel is my idol lol

  • Yeah nigel :)

  • Its 2011. How can people still gather and worship something that doesnt exists?

Are some humanbeings so misguided in old indoctrines, grouping up in order to create a comfortzone ( which in real are quite selffish actually ), that they worship an emotional stimuly. Look at it as a mind addiction, a repair of weakness.

In our part of the universe, the highest beings are humans.

Religious people ( regardless of faith ), are getting fewer and fewer.

  • @pbstratocaster Haha, years ago there barely was any Christian worship bands, or christian bands for that matter. Its now 2012 and the number keeps increasing. I'm pretty sure its not less people now.

  • Comment removed

  • @pbstratocaster Christianity is not about religion its about a relationship FYI.

  • @xNailedDeadRisen

    Its NOT about religion????

    What does FYI means ?

  • @pbstratocaster No Christians dont follow a "religion" ask anybody.

  • @xNailedDeadRisen

The singing about following the Lord,,,, if thats not religious what is it then?

    What does FYI means ??

  • @pbstratocaster Christians believe its not religion, its a relationship between God and the person. Worshipping God is not religious. FYI means for your information.

  • Nigel is great.Skilfully doing it.I envy you man.

  • "Thou should Play Skillfully on the strings" Psalms 33:3. Nigel's one of the best i ever heard.

  • and he's playing Beat It because it sounds good, and it's fun :)

  • i know nigel personally. he is DEFINITELY not performing.

  • lol wtf, i like nigel but those people ... seems nuts :P

  • wow. Nigel hendroff is so amazing... he is one of my favorite guitarist

  • We are told to make a joyful sound to God. So whether its through A rippin guitar solo or a bunch of simple chords is doesn't matter. But the thing is we should bring our best to God and nothing less, and so I believe that we must use stuff like solos to worship in our way, thats why im a guitarist, I also sing but at the end of the day I always try to remember the real reason I play. To Worship God and to bring others to worship.

    Peace

  • I've met Nigel in person and had multiple guitar classes with him, and he's totally humble about his amazing talent. It's all about where your heart is at when playing. Ask yourself are you playing to a crowd or are you playing to the Lord?

  • We can't question the heart of the worshiper. Nigel is INCREDIBLY talented and I honestly believe that he's using it for the Lord. And all the fuss about "Beat It" in "Break Free" is ridiculous. The song is about breaking free and dancing in the hope of salvation we have. Why not break free from the norm and insert a fun breakdown?

Worship is worship. Pray for Nigel as he continues to serve Jesus in this capacity.

  • @ 1:49 why is he playing beat it during a service lol

  • @LumpPlump The real question is why AREN'T you? lol

  • Comment removed

  • And AC/DC really??? That stands for "after christ devil comes" really??? You want to play their stuff in church?? Wow. Well I guess idk rather be annointed than play a sick Ac/DC riff lol doesn't bug me

  • @jordanakawoody Also, I don't listen to AC/DC but it's from the electrical terms Alternating Current and Direct Current. "After Christ devil comes" is the wrong meaning that came from a book called Devils Music created by Christian extremists that opposed rock music but completely lied in their book. I don't support listening to AC/DC, but that doesn't mean you can make up a name for what they stand for. And like I said, he wasn't even playing an AC/DC riff.

  • @13Royal31 Dont bother with him, a troll in the DISguise of a 'religious' person

  • I'm an ignorant hypocrite? Just because I'm living a life that's holy and set apart? No. I merely said that the things of God are sacred....you want me to delete my account? Why? Dude if we are no different than why are we Christians? I love God with all my heart...I choose not to play secular music and that's a choice...If that is doing harm by God then excuse me

  • @jordanakawoody You are an ignorant hypocrite and not because you are 'living a life that's holy and set apart', but because you implied that Nigel 'sold out his gift from God' and you have no right to say that he did that. Also, I never said that not playing secular music does harm by God I said that you can't judge others. Stop reading what you want to read and actually read what I'm writing. And for your information, he wasn't playing AC/DC he was guitar tapping.

  • MAN NIGEL PLAYS SO GOOD HE INSPIRERS TO JUST GET BETTER ON GUITAR!!!!

  • His tone! Love it!

  • Haha Nigel bad in the guitar sick solos

  • I didn't realize that the break free solo that Nigel played is basically the intro of the song "Beat it" by Michael Jackson. Anyway Nigel is a great guitar worshiper player and he does very well, but I would have preferred not to play that. :/

  • Comment removed

  • Nigel your awesome on that guitar god bless you guys.

  • Comment removed

  • at the Beat It part I thought Van Halen would appear out of nowhere LOL

  • One cant say how people SHOULD worship... If Nigel is seriously playing to worship God for real, s'awesome. If he's playing so he can get fans, then something should be fixed... Everything depends on the attitude of the person.

I play electric guitar for worship as well.. I always have trouble remembering the true reason to why i am playing. I believe so many worship electric guitarists have this problem.

  • @sheildlinky I must say it does seem like hes showing off :/ But I believe that he truly loves the lord and is worshiping simply by listening to the other hillsong songs hes done theres some leads bits he does like in "oh you bring" that are just for a worshipful sound and purpose.

  • Comment removed

  • @sheildlinky Amen to that man :P

  • I'd rather be annointed than good anyday.....I would never sell out my gift from God to worship him to pay homage to someone else or do a solo from a secular song.

..he's one of the sickest guitar players out there but seriously this makes me sick.....how people can mix the sacred and the things of this world.....

  • @jordanakawoody What is even conceivably "bad" about rocking out in a worship set. Using a secular solo doesn't diminish the message at all. If anything, it gets people even more into it. Not using music because it isn't a "worship" song is pretty stupid in my opinion. If you can pull off a Van Halen on AC/DC solo in a worship song and it work with the song, why not? There isn't a single reason not to do it.

  • @jordanakawoody dude chill out man, you sound like God hates every other type of music genre except Christian Music.

  • @jordanakawoody You have no place judging someone and especially implying that he is 'selling out his gift from God'. You are an ignorant hypocrite that gives Christians a bad reputation. Playing a solo from a secular song does not make the song 'evil' and what you need to do is to get rid of your YouTube account. It even states in the Bible that you have no right judging someones intentions so if ANYONE is doing wrong by God here it's you.

  • Wish he would play like this more often in some of the recordings

  • Lincoln is good but he puts the same solo in every song. Be honest, it's always some variance of the same lick over and over. Droff is lightyears ahead.

  • That One Way solo is SO EPIC!!!! Omg it blows my mind every time. The Droff has the greatest tone EVER and that solo is genius.

  • this guy rocks!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @nvs617 Lincoln Brewster? =)

  • @ndnkiwi It's funny that you said that because A week after I watched this video, I heard Lincoln Brewster for the first time lol.... So now Lincoln and Nigel are the best Christian guitarists I've ever heard

  • @nvs617 check out Lincoln Brewster too :)

  • NIGEL HENDROFF PLAYING MICHAEL JACKSON - BEAT IT!!!(Good Worship man)

Just see on 1:49. Nothing more.

  • Comment removed

  • @Mrjhow30 Nice. It fits perfectly in the song actually! And ACDC too, funny.

  • @SkylimitProdNorway

its not really ACDC ThunderSTruck u should listen to it again i mean they sound similar but there completely different.

  • @pshiftguitarist whatever

  • @pshiftguitarist you're right

  • @SkylimitProdNorway

yea its not a really big deal tho ...

  • tone, playing, worship AWESOME!

  • Who's playing the drums this time?

  • @aznyoungbo the one and only Rolf Wam Fjell.

  • @tinyvoices1290 Oh really i didn't even recognize him lol

  • oh lovely...

  • where do you get this video?

  • Unfortunately, they're not at their best. The guy singing "Break Free" sound off tune, etc.

His solos here are amazing only if you're an amateur. Nigel has better original solos on the CDs. But don't get me wrong, I respect Nigel as a great musician and a guitar player.

    God bless you all.

  • AWESOME "BEAT IT" IN PRAISE,

  • @kingx2000 Men the beat it part fit perfectly. God Bles Nigel

  • this idiot is making fun of God's Music, improvizing is an art but comparing religious songs with secular music is somthing which is not acceptable any where in the world,

  • @DCAttaullah

    1. what's more acceptable? you calling someone a brother in Christ an idiot or comparing songs... seriously

    2. All music is made of God. He created it. so we can compare the two. The thing about secular songs is that it has the message of what the people think (sometimes that's not good) the words are filled up with things God doesn't approve that society does nowadays. So technically, we can compare the two since all music was made by God but we've twisted it in bad ways

  • @DCAttaullah first of all he's not an idiot.. and i can tell you that being religious is way more unacceptable than creativity in God's eyes.

  • @DCAttaullah Shut up.

  • @DCAttaullah Why don't you complain about how he played "Thunderstruck" by ACDC as well...

If you don't want to play secular music with religious music, then don't ever play the cursed 1-4-5-1 or 1-4-6-5-1 progressions again.....

    Abominations apparently.....

  • @DCAttaullah That attitude is despicable and poisonous. This "idiot" has more talent and clearly is more enthusiastic about God than you are. Maybe you should actually read the Bible, and specifically the writings of Paul to the churches - Maybe next time you won't say such idiotic and blatantly Biblically unsupported things. You are in NO POSITION to criticize this music, and your attitude towards the 'Droff is downright unchristian. Matt. 7:3-4 may also interest you.

  • That kid cracks me up!

  • Wow, can't believe how much people are making about the beat it part.

It's music and they are having fun with a session part that everyone can recognize.

With all these judgmental and "law/tradition" purists, you would think that the Sanhedrin are still well and active LOL.

Music was created by God, the world has taken it away from the church and it's time for the church to take this beautiful cultural gift back and use it to worship.

So have fun in God's freedom and rock on for Him.

  • hey 3crthebest, thanks by you add tht video about The Droff 's Variation.God bless you guy. a quation, are yya brazilian? so, tk care c.ya

  • Doesn't it sound controversial????? Beat it in a Praise & Worship?????????????

  • @guitarman8294

we discussed this before... but uhh

all music is used to praise God but it's the music we write with the words we put in the music is what corrupts it so yea...

  • @xaznguitaristx very much thanks... God bless you... ;o)

  • Oh man Michael Jackson & praise music Hillsong is going to burn in hell! Hey religious ppl...epic fail go protest more concerts so you can be made fun of

  • All "pop" "stars" ran away from the church! They all learnt how to sing in church and then then ran into the "world" for money - fame and fortune! they dying in their ungodlyness now!

  • whos that li'l kid playing beside nigel??

  • yes. it was beat it - fallout boy version :)

  • The Break Free solo was definitely the "Beat it" solo :) Anyone with the ability to think could guess that. I love Hillsong, but that was just outright disrespectful to God. You do NOT bring in The King of Pop into a song that has entirely nothing to do with him.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Please show some respect to God hillsong, as much as I love your music, that was bad.

  • Comment removed

  • @iLoveJesus4Lif3 God created music, so all of it belongs to him.

  • 3:32 to 3:36 thunderstruck

  • guys!maybe the "break free" solo was his own. i mean like he probably made it up but it jst happened to sound like "beat it" by michael jackson

  • love it^_^

  • where was that?

  • He has a lot of creative riffs. But he isnt much of a lead player. defitnatly not amazing solos. The good catchy riffs are what make the song and hes awesome at that.

  • Listen, I love Droff as much as the next guy, but I only heard 1.5 solos in this 3:46 video. The rests are just the riffs to the songs. Not quite solos. Dude's awesome, but I wouldn't title this "Amazing Guitar Solos!"

  • @DMBFan985 Dude you're retarded of course the rest are riffs of the songs! He is the only guitar player up there! Wow man just wow.

  • @erosar10 If you knew what a solo was, you would realize that this video doesn't have many solos in it. Most of the things that this video passes off as solos are simply the riffs that compose the song. There is a big difference. I'm sure if you asked Droff to play the "solo" from any of these songs, he wouldn't really know what you're referring to as there arn't really any in the videos. Oh, and way to get your point across. Insulting someone is always a good way to illustrate your opinon.

  • @DMBFan985

and i believe your solo is fast picking and shreddings....and you lost what solo is...solo means to bring out the song yourself in your own interpretation...be it riffs or whatever....

  • LOL haha MJ's Beat it! xD But yep he plays really good even though he gets into it a lot sometimes :]

  • Hmm, outstanding play.. But he must be careful not to steal God's glory.. Gotta have that always in mind as a musician =) God bless..

  • WOW

  • what is the dvd these are of? i wanna get the dvd

  • um did break free sound like michel jackson's beat it lolz?????

  • @outbook yessss is the same riff

  • @outbook LOL!!! yeah he did it on purpose to pump people up with humour hahahah

  • could someone pplease recomend a good contemporary worship guitar instructional dvd? Ive already tried hillsongs creative thing and paul baloche's modern worship. I dont mind any price range but Im not really a beginner so....

Btw nice soloing. Ive heard a different solo in "the world will never take"

  • @MrJackanthony

Check out what Lincoln Brewster has to offer

  • @bdobberstein What does he have to offer? where can I find it? Thanks

  • @MrJackanthony

It wouldn't let me put his website in here as a comment...he has two amazing electric guitar instructional dvd's. Type his name in a search engine and it'll bring up his website. He breaks it down nicely, not just how to play his songs and solos, but how to create your own tasteful, musical solos, not to mention great finger exercises and all that. I'm not a beginner either, but I've gotten a ton from watching these...

  • @MrJackanthony - I had NO idea you had responded... SO sorry for the delay. Lincoln has two DVD's you can google - "1 on 1 with Lincoln Brewster" Vol. 1 and 2. Check out lincolnbrewster . com. Blessings!

  • @MrJackanthony - I had NO idea you had responded... SO sorry for the delay. Lincoln has two DVD's you can google - "1 on 1 with Lincoln Brewster" Vol. 1 and 2. Check out lincolnbrewster . com. Blessings!

  • excellent tone Nigel keep jamming.

  • whos the guy singing and playing the acoustic? is it graham?

  • yep... Graham Bronczyk

  • Blah blah blah, I bet alot of people on here are also the people who yell at the waiter at lunch after church, or are gonna be the old guy who calls the church office to tell them what they don't like about whatever. So funny!

  • I like the one from break free

  • Coolll..!!!

  • the music isnt bad, it is the heart and message in the music

  • I don't follow. Could you explain?

  • hmmm. What don't you follow? "crazy sick retarded" or "...heart and msg in the music"???

  • Okay Brother, I'm not trying to offend you here, but you do know that break free means, "won't you break free from the chains of sin." That's the message. Also, I don't know what's sick, crazy or retarded.

  • Not offended at all. I really hate when people argue on here; why can't we all just get along, lol.

anyway... yes that is the msg, ur right, and music feels good, gives u sumn to jam to w/ the words, and for some people or ones that don't listen to Christian music- the beat part might make them listen to the song(words). sick crazy retarded (excuse me if this is offensive), but i just really cool!! sorry so long!!

  • What's the beat it thing they're all talking about?

  • What??? Who is they? And I'm talking bout the "Beat it" solo that Nigel played

  • Some commentors...what beat it solo? Like the Michael jackson song?

  • u said that u don't follow. Dude just read the earlier comments! I don't think ur going to understand bruh

  • Okay. Now I get it. I see your point now.

  • the "Beat it" was crazy sick retarded!!!

  • Ive got to agree worship its supposed to be fun> there is nothing on this planet like worshiping. I think Heaven is gonna be a big ol stinkin rock concert....... At least I hope so :)

  • shut up barca. worship is supposed to be fun, its the message behind it that is pleasing to God. is the guitar riff of the world? playing it a sin?

its believers such as yourself that turn people off to Christianity. because you make it seem like its all about judgement and condemnation.

Colossians 1:16 also says "For by him all things were made, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, authorities, lords, rulers, and powers; all things were made by him and for him"

  • its not a sin to play that riff! but id say that god gave us the abiltity of creavity to create our own song/riff to praise him from the bottom of our hearts. we dont need a product of a man who used it to perform himself. i dont think that god is pleased about that

the verse u used means that in that all things were created for his glory, but men changed and gloryfied themselves!

  • wow some Christian image. Romans 12:2 says

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Today it can start with a small Michael Jackson riff, but tomorrow who knows what will come next.

  • Psalms 150. Read it broseff.

All I'm sayin' is when I jam for JC I jam hard!

  • Dude I don't know about you guys but that "Beat it" riff placement was perfect =) I think God looked down on that tone and smiled :P

  • THE BREAK FREE PART IS SO COOOOOOOL

  • @PiggyKlinsmen i so agree!!!

  • @PiggyKlinsmen

LMAO every time my praise team plays this song the rythm guitar player in my band always does that beat it solo !

  • i love his style

  • i was just surprised but its ok i guess if its for messing around. and yes in what the world will never take, in the iheart version the thunderstruck riff exists and nigel played it here as well

  • ssseeeeean nigel sound owesome this guy can play my friend

  • I think that they should have tried to evade playing that michael jackson bit because it could jeopardize their image, I personally have no problem with it, but there are people that do and more importantly, you don't know what God has to say about it because there are different opinions but no one is God to know exactly if He's ok with it or not....

  • ??? None of those songs were secular, what are you guys talking about? they were all off of Hillsong worship albums.

  • the michael jackson song im "break free"

  • secular songs in praise? that's can't be good.

  • I think you`re missing the point....

I believe that there isn`t such thing as a secular song, but there are secular lyrics ... which give sense to the song.

    GBWU

  • that is one of the most big lies i ever heard in my church life. the song of michael jackson inserted by the darlene zchech team in "break free" was never meant to be a praise song, or made for the glory of God...

  • How could you tell??? besides, there is nothing wrong in using Beat It in a Hillsong song.

Now, it would be different if they used the lyrics.

Example: Hillsong used the melody of "Bittersweet Symphony" of the Verve for an intro ... but they didnt said: THIS IS A BITTERSWEET symphony...

Its just an expresion but, if you really want to praise God, you must do it in everything, not only music.. GBU

  • the "bittersweet" and "One" where used in other context (not in time of praise).

I tell you, use michael jackson music in praise, is what God wants? can you say yes? i sorry, but i can´t. and if we are gonna give praise to him we must give God what he wants (assuming this not only for music, but everything in life.)

  • Even, what we see is a good guitar player showing us his talent. But we don't see the glory of God in it (even when you can say: "hey, he is glorifying God with his talent").

Yes is true, God commands us to be light in dark places, and to do everything for His glory. But never forget this: We must shine with HIS light, and honour and praise God ONLY.

  • SIck! i Love that song!!

But guys can you help me.

i wanna buy a new guitar.

either a fender telecaster, gibson sg or gibson les paul.

and i play many diferent kind of music but i play this kind most. what guitar is best for this stuff?

  • to be the most versatile i recommend what he's using, the duesenberg starplayer tv special.

or you could look towards 25" scale guitars such as PRS and get a good amp and pedals after. you should be able to get his tone. :D

  • @pandaaz that guitar is a couple thousand dollars, lol but i gues if you afford a gibson les paul buying the starplayer should be no problem

  • he's sick! But hes no way near Ben Kascia, Anthony Armstrong and Chris Rubey of Devil Wears Prada.

  • hahah dang he showed that 4 year old hahaha i love nigel but i love jesus moreee

  • why there's BEAT IT riff in break free....

  • awesome

  • This guy caught my attention because of his black gretsch duojet..

  • haha! YEAH!!! \m/.

and secular songs can't put Hillsong's solos in theirs. haha, jk. :D

  • nigel is the best!!

  • he's not a legend. you have to be deceased to be titled a legend. nigel here can be called a "living legend".

  • Did Jesus set us free to worship??ABSOLUTELY!!!

  • There is a lot of better guitarists out there. He's not bad, but not that original.

  • Is this Hillsong Kids or Something?

He is an absoulute legend though lol

  • i think jackson is a fan of nigel hendroff..and hendroff gives respect to the pop king that's why he inserted the beat it riff in the song break free..sounds awesome but questionable..gospel song touched with earthly song? i can't image what could be the reaction of GOD in here! :))

  • Hillsong dentro da igrejaaaa ao vivoooo cantando no louvooooooooooooor

    meu Deus, um sonho *-*

  • why is michael jacksons beat it in break free???????

  • Why not!? haha Michael Jackson revolutionized the Rock and Roll style to what we know it as today. Most of hillsong/united has that pop/punk style of playing. Why not jam out to 15 secs of something he wrote. Give credit where credit is due. :)

  • There is nothing wrong with playing a little bit of rock xD

  • but credit is not due to michael, after all, God created everything, right? so the credit is due to God, not to michael...

  • Michael materialized this style out of nothing. Yes. God created everything. But we don't sit around waiting for God to create. Michael created it. It's an expression of what God has given us the ability to do...
