Do you live in the Midwest? Want to see Soulive, and Lettuce on the same bill along with 25+ other acts? Check out Big Pig Music and Arts Festival, a small 2000 capacity outdoor festival along with Ohio River just outside of Cincinnati - on the dates of September 29th-October 2nd. Tickets are only 30 bucks, children under 12 can come for free! 10% of the proceeds go to Ripley Public Schools and Cincinnati Public Schools! Can't wait to groove with everyone!
What are you talking about? This guy is great......his voice is perfect for this style and he sounded great on this album. His swag is off the chain too! That whole jamaican swang in his voice is so appropriate for this! It's raw as hell!
Not that he was bad. My comment was a bit harsh. I just think Nigel is a better fit to what they are doing now. His range is wider, and he is a great keyboard player as well.
Oh sho ya right! I just saw them in Boston almost two weeks ago and Nigel ripped!!! He got that 70's soul down pat!!!! A Raphael Saadiq/Soulive show at House of Blues.....i almost shit in my pants......what a awesome show!!!!!!
No, actually it's "Callin' Live" by Soulive. Get your soul straight jackass. (it's sad, people like this Pfunkinhomeboy can't look past "a" similarity.) And honestly, I hear the influence of Marvin Gaye, but like i said i hear the INFLUENCE. Would you rather Soulive take influences from Miley Cyrus? YIKES!!!!!!! But, I know, people like you just wanna bitch about something. Whatever makes you feel better about your pathetic self right?
pretty hostile man. All respect for Soulive, it's just the same chord progression, like tons of artists do. Didn't wanna go sit on your tickle. It did make me feel better about my pathetic little self though:) Haha!
sry, but if it's the same progression as tons of other artists, why point it out like a whiner? I apologize for calling you pathetic, but I will correct myself and say your previous comment was pathetic and pointless not you necessarily ;) And if it's any consolation, your comment was at the end of a long stretch of cynical comments I'd read before my previous response. So it was kinda like water torture to read "This is Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye" It was the straw that broke my back ;)
Ok, apology accepted! All love and unity man! And maybe your right that it's pretty pointless to say what I said! Hehe, btw this is my first youtube conversation, nice debute! Cheers!
It's like Soulive completely changed genres from Jazz/Funk to Soul. I personally like Soulive's earlier stuff better but i still enjoyed their No Place Like Soul album.
on their no place like soul tour they still did plenty of funk three piece jamming. Soulive only expands their sound, they don't forget where they came from.
Muy buen grupo, recien hace como un mes que tengo conocimiento de ellos y ya tengo casi todos sus discos, hace de verdad musia muyyy buena. Ademas la cancion es wenisima.
Toussanit added the last piece they needed for sure. They've been so good in the background for people for so long. They can really stand up as their own solid group with him now. Exactly the guy that should be singing their tunes
I can't believe this group isnt more popular. They are brilliant! Probably my favorite band out right now...it just makes you feel good to listen to their songs. Makes you want to get up and dance. If you listen to this and dont atleast tap your foot then you have no pulse.
I know exactly what u mean! Best is go to official web site and contact them...i have done this several times. The more the better...It was good to see them in line up supporting The Cat Empire touring Oz...only for them to cancel...damnations!!!!
I don't know guys but adding Toussanit was the best move Soulive could've done for themselves. The old Soulive was cool, but they needed a singer that would appeal to the mass audience.
I understand their need for a change but i feel that its a sideways step bringing in so much vocals. I miss watching them more freeform, jazzy feeding off eachother. Now their show feels way too stock. who's with me?
I just saw them at Bimbershoot and I have to say that the songs with vocals feel very spontaneous and like they're feeding off eachother. They are constantly adding parts to all songs and mixing in instrumentals. Toussaint gives it everything he has on every song, great addition to the group.
who the f**k tried to re-style them supercool musicians????? I love SOULIVE!

I've seen them twice live in Boston. Both times all the people around me were staring at me because of how hard i was rocking out.
The first time was still the best live show I've ever seen, Sammy K on sax that night. Blew my mind in such a serious way.
