@jono11 - It's called "Frolic". It's the theme tune to Curb Your Enthusiasm. The idea is to find the most inappropriate scenes to play the music on top of. Judging by the level of bile that's aimed at me for this I would say I have succeeded! Do a search for “The Frolic Effect” and you’ll find other inappropriate uses of the same music. The funny thing is, I'm not the only person to do that to this scene....

If you can't come up with an actual reason that something shouldn't be done, then sorry, there's no reason not to do it. You have an unhealthy attachment to fiction, and to whatever weird concepts of "honor" and "heroism" you seem to have devoted your life to. Is your life such a barren void that you have to glom onto made-up ideas passed off as classical morality?

@jono11 No, they can be mocked, not "should". Besides, mocking a fictional character can hurt people. I'm not saying it will, but it can. The character of Spock affected the lives of many people, and so by mocking such a great influence in people's lives, you are hurting those people.

That's a weak-minded person, and I'm unconcerned about that person's feelings. "Spock affected the lives of many people"? It's Star Trek, dude, not David Foster Wallace. I like Star Trek as much as the next guy, but it's nothing special. The franchise veers between sci-fi camp, sci-fi action, and unintentionally funny.

@jono11 BTW, how can you tell what I devote my life to just by reading 2 comments on a YT vid? I am a writer, so I feel deeply when it comes to characters and storytelling. The character of Spock and his death are beautiful works of art. The artist in me loves them.

I'd just as soon mock them as I'd mock Michaelangelo's masterpiece on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Don't you realize that people died during the holocaust and vietnam? They weren't even fictional people. This is beyond what I may feel about a fictional character, you are now saying that people should make fun of real people who died horrible deaths just because somebody didn't like them. That is something that should remind of what we as a race are capable of, not something to make jokes about.

I could even take some good natured jokes about this scene if they are truly funny. This video is just ridiculous. That's the main reason that I dislike it.

I can even take jokes about me if they are made in good fun, but making jokes of such calamities isn't funny, it's insulting.
