  • basically these are calisthenics right?

that's what they look like to me.

  • I've been doing Tracy since 2009 and say what you want it works nothing else every did...the method is AWESOME!!!

  • How do I lift my leg back without over turning it? How do I know when enough turn of the hip is enough? I noticed an arabesque move generally lifts with the crease above the butt cheek and not in the lower back (learned from another ballet youtube video lol). Is this what you mean? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, what is the best video series to purchase that has the most effective butt, back, belly and arm exercises? looking for motions not a cardio workout. Thank you! Katie

    Ok

  • Sorry but no one is going to "get strong" lifting three pounds and bending their knees halfway. The body adapts specifically to the stress it goes through. Lifting three pounds will make you good at lifting three pounds.

  • @FloydofOz if you wanna get ugly buff no you wont get that butt if you want a bikini model body thats what you will get! i love my body it has flattened my c-section area nothing has ever worked for that. im 45 and i have an amazing figure now thanks to this. really people don't nock it!

  • @rose18792 that's great! I'm happy for you; however, being pleased with your body is not the same thing as being strong, which is the claim she made in the clip. There are millions of women who lift more than three pounds and become strong without getting "ugly buff." Again, congratulations on your results.

  • This women is a joke. A women should lift more than 3 pounds. 3 pounds isn't going to get you any results. One should lift heavy to build muscle and get lean.

  • i like those numbers ... its great when you can do from 5 to 10 ... but i want you to do a hundred :D

  • if we continue to work out daily to stay fit and healthy into our older years (it is here before we know it) we need varieties of workouts. if you aren't moving, you're decaying after a certain age. seriously. i do all sorts of workouts to keep myself motivated to stay active. Yeah i get busy or unmotivated too, but variety helps. Tracy's is just one of them and her stuff is great. if Paltrow or others hadn't mentioned her we wouldn't have these. So I'm grateful.

  • @happyshiney it really tightens your skin seriously this is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • tracy andersons workout methods should be for olderly people that are in their 70's or 80's,lets face it anyone who wants to get in serious shape shouldnt do this crap, do other stuff, weight training with light weights and low reps or bodyweight exercises, like pull ups, chin ups and dips, and do ab work now and then this is stupid.

  • Somehow - the results count for me. I never liked to do abdominal work - yet, since I use Tracy's post-pregnancy workout - my ab-section changed wonderfully! Otherwise, it comes all down to personal preference: For those who like calm & minimal instruction - she is perfect. I can stay within my focus & thoughts. I love that she does not count - so boring to count during a workout. I am pleased I found her - for the results and the calmness. I do not certificates but humans and RESULTS!

  • @cheerbabe8790

You know it's not like I want to hate her. Although I liked her workouts at the beginning, I noticed her workout dvds show a serious lack of important instructions.

And thanks to that I got a very painful muscle strain. Btw my first workout injury ever.

Maybe the moves seem fun at first, but please be careful and get some basic information on how to workout the healthy way before you buy her dvds!

  • @DMSaysFuckYou . Thanx for the advice but the reason i replied to the comments is that I am a former dancer. I also was a gymnast and cheerleader for 15 years. She does lack instruction in her video, but obviously the videos are not for beginners...anyone with common sense knows to stretch before working out and that workouts shouldn't be done full speed until they have been watched and practiced a few times. For me the dance is easy, but the results are amazing! i lost 5 lbs in 7 days.

  • For all you people who are hating on her method, you are idiots. This is what women want to look like, and this is what doing her method does for you. Most women don't want to do dead lifts, or a million squats, or crunches. These workouts are fun, energetic, and give the exact same results as going to the gym for hours. I don't care about her certifications, or her history.Look at her clientele, they are all fit and amazing! I care that I spent 80 dollars and got in banging shape. End of story

  • @cheerbabe8790 I don't want to look like that! I wanna klook feminine and have alittle curves. Not a body like a boy. Off course she is a good shape and her methotds must be good, but still i'm going to run, cycle and go to gym. And I don't have to use for hours a day for that.

  • @MsShade77

Stick to it. No need for complicated dance moves. Just simple exercises...and the gym.

  • @eewarze I am going to :) I can dance on my own at home or at club. And I really need my feminine curves! :D

  • @MsShade77

Haha, alright. Don't lose courage...ever! I know, from observation, you can get nice curves if you work at it. : )

  • @cheerbabe8790

The thing is... people seem to think you have to learn complex dance moves to get in shape..but you dont neeed. You dont even need a PT or some celebrity shaper. Just working out the right way is enough to get in shape. The thing about people who are making money out of this is... if they're going to teach you simple stuff, you're going to realise it's not worth paying a premium to get in good shape. So, make it look professional and what not...

  • @eewarze the thing is though that her dance moves aren't that complex and neither are her mat workouts, they are just extremely effective. And some people need videos and personal trainers. Not everybody can just take charge of their own health and exercise. I find the workouts really easy but I didn't mind paying $90 because I lost 5 lbs in my first week. results like that pay for themselves, plus i personally like the diet plan and the way she sets up her program, I use it along with my gym!

  • @cheerbabe8790

Okay, points noted. Glad I didn't get flamed or anything. I guess what you say is right. Some busy people do prefer to have a trainer alongside them to guide them along the way. Also, some also know that they can exercise by self-learning and such...but having a mentor/partner would give the support and encouragement needed in the long-run.

    Stay fit

  • @eewarze Problem is that everyone's definition of "the right way" is different.

Some would consider this great stuff. For me "training" the way she shows would be a joke. Where people go wrong is they don't find something that suits their goals, because they don't take the time to understand.

  • she doesn't have ass at all

  • What a load of rubbish...fat women all over the world, beware, this woman is talking out her arse. If you think madonna got in shape like this, you are deluded.

Anderson, you are a great marketer and make a shit load of money but you know nothing about fitness, or if you do, you are not showing it here!

  • @leandog99 Yeah. Madonna is always been in shape so Anderson didn't help her to get shape. Anderson was Madonna's trainer for a while and that's it.

  • Comment removed

  • Tracy definitely has no idea what she's talking about (and wears her pants so low that it looks like she has love handles -ha!) I did her mat workout and was horrified - I'm a pilates instructor and wanted some fun new moves or a decent workout (This is NOT pilates - just fyi : )but no instruction and no quality of movement what so ever. Any exercise is good for you so if this is working for you then go for it, it's just that to dancers and people in the fitness world she seems REALLY silly.

  • @saragrace84 I am doing TAM since 1 year. Her method rocks and gives you RESULTS, that you never get from pilates.

  • Doesn't matter what people say or how they criticise Tracy, my body is in the best shape ever. I am 46 and I have 2 kids. I have worked out a lot, Pilates , Yoga, running weight lifting. 1 week into Tracy's method I saw results I never ever saw before. My body is feminin and strong now. I love it ! The method is genius!!

  • @av2303 what dvd do you use?

  • @AngelgirlDarkV I have used all her dvds. You are supposed to change your workout every 10 days.

Best results so far I goz from her bootcamp book/dvd.

Now I just started with her new metamorphosis program. It is very challenging, I love the new moves!

  • @av2303 It's been said that "the best program is the one you'll actually stick to", so good on you for finding something you like.

In terms of results for performance, aesthetics, and just general health I promise you there is MUCH better stuff out there than this. Again, congrats on what you've done, but don't treat this as the pinnacle.

  • @jayrhodes

Really? Please don't keep it to yourself. Which program are you talking about?

  • @av2303 me too!! I agree completely. The proof is in your body

  • @hushhush999

Are you out of your mind. Her stomach practically disappeared when she was lying down!

  • certs dont mean shit!!!! i hate all those robot certified fakers!!!! if u wanna fix people bcome a therapist! im not a big fan of hers, but she gives clients wat THEY want not wat a trainer wants!

  • Its known that a gym is essential a gossip central, i didnt know that a youyube clip could fill the same function.

  • what kind of shoes is tracy wearing?

  • @shister76 Adidas Microbounce

  • Don't hate on Tracy, her method works! She has found success, the Haters are on fully alert!

  • Shes a fraud!

  • well, in my own experience all i can tell you is that tracy anderson's method worked for me and im feeling great :D

  • I don't care if she is certified or not, or who her clients are, but I have done her workout for about 5 weeks now and it is working better than anything else I've done. I have tried other stuff for years, in fact, I have fired more than 2 personal trainers, they got me bulkier. After 4 weeks of the lady's workout, my legs have significantly become leaner and so have my arms and butt. I'd strongly recommend it. It's easy, can be done anywhere, no special equipment required.

  • It's not that any woman should NEVER lift more than three pounds.. or that they NEED a teeny tiny body.. it's for women who want that lean, tiny look. There's other work outs if you want a different look. I've worked out with her in NY and shes very real and understanding. If you want to look a certain way, you need to put in the time, but also have good moves.

  • @Sallyxo213 She's small because she only eats 800 calories a day.

  • So Tracy Anderson is not related to Pam Anderson? They look very similar.

  • Ive def heard mixed things abou her but her body is cute and hse seems to work for celebs I dont mind a tough workout but I dont wantto hurt myself I want to learn to exercise properly. Fun just the same to watch while bored at work LOL :)

  • Can't make up my mind about her. Her rule that "women should never lift more than 3 pounds weights" is ridiculous. And so is her talk about "my program will give you a teeny tiny body". Why should the goal be about getting a tiny figure? I'm sure she has some good points but somethings she says really annoys me.

  • WARNING Don't waste your money - this woman's a fraud. Check out the reviews on amazon.com - particularly the one star reviews. In her actual DVD's she gives no instruction whatsover. p.s. And Gwyneth DOES NOT LOOK GOOD in a bikini.

    earthlingsmusic 1 second ago

  • so gwyneth paltrow has been diagnosed with the bone disease Osteopenia, a precursor to Osteoperosis. shes only 37 years old! thats because using your cute pink 2 pound dumbbells for hundreds of reps does not provide anything close to the necessary stimulus needed to maintain a healthy skeletal system. combine that with those horrible detox cleanse diets and its a recipe for your Bone Mineral Density to plummet. how intelligent is tracy anderson now?

  • you want the most effective exercise for getting in shape? its called push-aways. to perform this exercise, simply PUSH your fat ass AWAY from the table and get active. tracy anderson dancing is what you can do as a warmup and/or cool down from a real workout. it is not a workout or cardio or conditioning or fat loss. it is just dancing for fun.

  • to reiterate the main points in the comments: according to people that actually train people in addition to formal education and certifications, tracy anderson is a waste of time. but according to someone who is famous, and people who are impressed by someone being famous, shes great because shes a dancer and uses small muscles and shes famous and im not so she must be smarter than me. i guess that means youll be following Tom Cruise and joining Scientology soon. after all, hes famous

  • @rtw2k

HAAAA! LOL! Thank you! That was so well summarized. Gotta love it when actual logic is introduced to a discussion. :-)

  • >.> wew....

my only comment: People their own way on how to deal with things...I think having many resources allows a person to take different tech. from different instructors...Just because 1 tech. doesn't work on most people does not mean it wont work on the some. Find your own style...Don't just copy, Try to find ways on you can manipulate the ideas and lessons you watched/read that will fit into your own capacity...or your own "comfort" 8)

  • Tracy seems to get results and in the end that's all that really matters. The only people I see complaining really, are health fanatics who wish they could have Tracy's clientele and fame. Sounds like a lot people are hating the game when really they should be hating their own inadequacies. Tracy is a dancer and her routines are derived from her dance back ground, so if you don't like the fact that her routines are based in dance then you should move over to Jillian Micheal's.

  • Comment removed

  • @loloolee24

I've been in a dance culture for 20 yrs and was even part of a dance co for a while. I've been in fitness for 12 yrs. Tracy's nonsense is neither good dance or fitness technique. Any kind of exercise done 6-12 hrs/wk will obviously produce results. That's not efficient or intelligent training. Interestingly if you have to train that many times/wk, that says something about the fitness program. I help my clients to define their overall well-being. My clients DO NOT define me!

  • What people don't understand is that these workouts are derived from dance routines. Unless you have had formal dance training or have tried Tracey's method you will NOT understand the effectiveness of her method. These routines target the smaller muscle groups that are rarely used by ordinary people but consistently used by dancers (which is why they are in such great shape).

  • @dancngraindrop02

Don't you think it's fairly obvious to most of us that her fitness regimen is dance based? And I will assert that unless you have a background in functional anatomy and experience as an exercise professional you will NOT understand just how absurd her claims are about smaller muscles. What are these smaller musc's she speaks of? Stabilizers? Can't be b/c those are under the larger prime mover muscles, hence not visible. She makes no anatomical references, b/c she's clueless!

  • god I can't stand this woman, she is so full of shit

  • complete garbaage total bullshit who ever the fuck that was...

  • I would like to say that Tracy Anderson is hot enough to watch the video despite the fact the she has absolutely NO CLUE what she is doing and is proliferating ignorance and meaningless exercise.... but she's not even that hot so forget it.

  • @healthyurbankitchen

LOL! You got that right! The only she has going for her now is Gwyneth Paltrow and formerly Madonna. That what got her the big break. Sooner or later she will fall just like all the other fad "systems" out there.

  • I don't get it...is this meant to get people in shape? I don't think anyone would even break a sweat doing this shit.

  • FUCK CERTIFICATIONS! fitness should be fun!

  • I read about this and am so intimidated. Can it really work for a regular person who is not that coordinated? I like GOOP and I aspire to be more like her lifestyle.

  • it's more for toning for women that are either already lean really as it wount shed weight unless there is cardio

  • stop hatin'. you're not training madonna, she is. if training performance artists who are very VERY successful isn't a good enough background, you're going to be hard pressed to find anyone who meets your standards. it's funny how people on the internet love to talk mad shhh about people who are actually doing well at doing what they enjoy. maybe spend less energy on bad vibing about other people and more energy on doing what you love and maybe you'll get some haters of your own one day.

  • Comment removed

  • Look who's talking about hatin'. You might wanna try walkin' your talk. And while you're at it, get your info str8. Madonna fired her. And training celebrities isn't a background. That should be obvious! If people define themselves that relatively, then it really is sad. Nobody talking sh*t about her b/c she's doing well. Certain other celebrity trainers really know their stuff & are well-respected but she's professionally & technically a joke. Callin' out the charlatans is necsry 4 public educ!

  • the reason women get results on her program is because her diet plan is around 1000 calories per day.

  • @ZorflexOL

Yeah a client of mine told me about her diet system. 1000 calories/day sounds like the ridiculous Cookie Diet created by an MD. Fascinates me how such absurd systems become popular. It really says something about our society's relationship to food and our bodies. We want superficial results easy and fast. Well-being is not really considered by a lot of folks, esp if celebrities aren't thinking about that (or some believe they are). Extreme diets and fitness fads are not the answer!

  • I don't agree. I do her dvd workouts and have seen wonderful results without following her diet. I have lost six pounds and added muscle just by doing the workouts and drinking protein directly afterward. I started out thin but out of shape- which honestly thin doesn't really mean anything if you don't have any muscle definition or strength. Now I am more compact and strong and have lots of energy. It makes sense if people need to lose a lot of weight or see fast results to cut some calories

  • Cutting some calories, as you put it, is 1 thing, but cutting it down to 1/2 the daily recommended is absurd and will likely have long term consequences. There have been hundreds of diets put out in the past couple of decades and cutting calories that much has never worked long-term b/c nobody can sustain. Hence, the very high % of people who rebound from these diets. What's the point of losing a bunch of wt fast and via extreme methods, if you can't sustain it and will most likely gain it back?

  • Yeah 1000 calories is totally nuts- no argument there, I'm just saying that for me, her workout style has really helped me tone up and feel healthier. Honestly yoga is more strain on me because I have bad knees and holding poses is a stress. Of the three dvds I have the most reps I've ever had to do was 35 on a leg exercise. Maybe the advanced dvds have more reps but I don't have those.

  • Are you dealing with the bad knees directly though? I've probably worked with more knee issues than anything else. They're wt bearing joints so it's easier to injure them. Did you have to go to therapy for them? Certain yoga asanas can definitely be tough on already injured knees. There are certainly ways of building the stability of that area and I've helped people with pretty severe arthritis push back total knee replacements. It's usually a matter of stability.

  • @EngagedFitness I don't have money for therapy so I don't know exactly what's wrong with my knees but I get a dull pain in my knees and shins especially when the weather is damp, which is weird since I'm only 24

  • @poofyhair990

That sounds like arthritic changes have occurred in the joint. Any previous injuries to the knees, feet, or ankles? Do you feel the pain right at the front of the knee cap or does it feel behind the knee cap like inside the knee? If you prefer private communication, then feel free to send me a private message.

  • @EngagedFitness I sometimes get dull aches during damp weather. If I don't rest between workouts and then do plyometrics the next day I get a pain on the front side of my right knee. I kind of ride it out and hope it goes away!

  • @thekassandracomplex

That actually sounds like Patella Femoral Syndrome (PFS or chondramalasia). I'm doing some serious work with an 11 year old now around that. Try rolling out the outer thigh of that leg from the outside of the knee to the outer hip. If it's painful, that can be good news as it most likely means not inherently a knee issue but a tissue issue. Keep rolling holding for 30 seconds on painful spots (tissue knots) and that should help resolve knee issue (if it's PFS--probably is).

  • @thekassandracomplex

1 Precaution: NEVER ROLL ON CONSECUTIVE DAYS! Give the tissue 48 hrs recovery just like strength training and you should be able to do it 3x/wk. If that doesn't resolve the issue in 2-3 wks, consult an orthopedist or PT.

Also make sure to cycle in & out of plyometrics. It should only be done in 3-4 wk blocks & then cycle strength and stability training back in to build joint stability & tissue tolerance. Plyos is tough on connective tissue so shouldn't be for more than that.

  • Also, how are you measuring strength?

Anderson's method does not build functional strength at all partly b/c 100 reps is a mega muscular endurance workout that runs the risk of overuse injuries due to joint stabilizers being fatigued and not being able to perform their job properly. Reps is the single most important acute exercise variable b/c it determines physiological nrg system you are using and thus musculoskeletal results. Muscle and strength are related but not interchangeable.

  • Also with the strength thing, it's not anything I've measured, I've just noticed that I don't feel any strain or soreness with lifting and things like I used to. I can lift more weight comfortably and that I am more limber for sure. I'm not saying it's for everybody, I'm just saying that I personally have benefitted from her workouts. I've been able to stick with it because even though its hard, it doesn't make me sore for days like other workouts have and I haven't gotten bored with it.

  • There are tons of different exercise systems out there that can have people tone and define. The goal of my work is to have my clients looking better, feeling better and performing better. All 3 areas get hit! This is what I mean by functional and it prevents injury. Too many people sacrifice the last of the 3, b/c they don't think about their activities of daily living or sporting activities they may enjoy. W/out that we can look and feel better, but still be at risk for injury lifting a child.

  • Bulk is determined by genetics. Very very few women have that kind of genetic structure. I've been doing this for 12 years & I've trained more women that men. None of my females are bulky! I & many others in the industry have spent years trying to educate women that that is a myth & along comes Tracy Anderson saying the opposite just to promote her method. Many ways of trimming the body but she's simply trying to be contrarian for publicity purposes. I just saw an ND do that w/adrenal fatigue.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • no one says that "no one gets bulky." whats incorrect is when tracy anderson says "everyone gets bulky." gymnasts are also elite athletes that train for hours a day in addition to winning the genetic lottery. they are obviously the exception. but what do you think most guys think of gymnasts, like shawn johnson or someone like that? the general consensus among men is they are very desirable. this argument makes tracy look even more clueless, and i didnt think that was possible

  • U can see 3 of my advanced clients on my channel in 4th video from the top-Clients Workin' It!

The 1st guy is a thin, toned yogi & my most advanced client. The 1st woman is also a thin, toned yogi and my strongest female. Both have been doing intense strengthening for 2 years & neither is bulked up! The 2nd guy is a bulkier hockey player doing the same exercises. He's bulkier than me but I still lift more. It's genetics people! There are ways to train women w/bulky genetics to just trim & tone.

  • go to PubMed and read every peer-reviewed article on what kind of workout burns the most calories and sustains the most weight-loss and improvements in body composition. Then compare that workout with what Tracy Anderson does, and decide for yourself if she is qualified. Dont judge by what celebrities claim. Thats no more helpful than an infomercial, and they get paid millions to be fit as their job.

  • i can speak for tracy andersons workout regime.. it works!! i lost 7 lbs in just under 3 wks.. my arms are toned n defined and beautiful.. i believe heavy weights do bulk women up! ill stick with her routine for the long haul.. just saying

  • it doesnt matter what you believe, it matters what research says. women do not bulk up easily. heck, the majority of men dont bulk up easily, and they actually try for it. women generally lack enough anabolic hormones to get "bulky", and thats something you can believe in.

  • I totally agree with juiceknot, rtw2k and SebastianCrimson. I and other trainers have had the same criticisms of Tracy Anderson since I first encountered her "work" when I worked at sports club and she was brought in to do a boot camp for 25 women. We all wondered what her background was. What's her actual training and certifications in fitness (not dance)? Trainers usually show this off (I know I do), but the only thing I see shown off as far as her background is her celebrity clientele.

  • @AReyesJKD I completely agree with you all! Don't be afraid to lift weights, ladies. It'll boost your metabolism, protect the muscles that you'll lose as you age, and make you look smaller because muscle takes up less space than fat. Strong doesn't equal masculine. Women AND men find it VERY hard to bulk up, and that's why body builders have to work VERY hard. You won't look like them by lifting weights a few times a week.

  • @AReyesJKD if Tracy Anderson is good in trainer, why she had to show you off her certifications in fitness ? and she is one of the best trainer ! ( i tested ) certifications doesn't mean anything you can have'em and bein a bad trainer et haven't them and being a great trainer... are you THE police or something like that ! or are you jealous just 'cause she works with Madonna but for your response she have got them !

Sofia Boutella ( a friend of Madonna)

  • Tracy Anderson is why women still think they'll get bulky if they lift heavy. She is why females still do a million crunches thinking they'll lose belly fat. This training style is laughable. I would really like to see her certifications. It's upsetting to see props given to someone who has no idea what they're talking about. Ladies do yourself a favor and don't look elsewhere.

  • I meant please look elsewhere

  • @SebastianCrimson Strength training slims and tones your body so you don't end up being skinny fat, which means you're small but flabby or skinny like a pole or pubescent boy. Anderson is going against weights BUT you can clearly see that her client, Madonna, has used them for years. Hypocrite? Anyway, people have said that strength training shaped their bodies far more tan dieting and cardio alone. Those models you see in videos don't stick with those Barbie weights.

  • @SebastianCrimson Lifting heavy did cause me to bulk, so did running, etc. Her method is the only thing fitness program that made a difference in my arms and abs...which I have struggled with for years. I think she does know what she's talking about. I have experienced a real, positive difference :)

  • the way I feel about these exercises, is that they are for women who are already in reasonably good shape. I am quite fit looking but I know that there are many areas that lack tone and this is a good way to do it. Many of the exercises also remind me of dance warm-ups which release tension extremely well.

  • shes fit!!! holy moly

  • Comment removed

  • juiceknot is correct. this is less of a workout than grocery shopping - literally. muscle doesnt tone, thats just a buzzword. and since 95% of women only have about 1/30th the testosterone that males do, they do not get bulky. tracy anderson is a trainer like dr. phil is a doctor

  • hahahahah

  • Comment removed

  • Great video! I do not want to bulk up like what I have done to my body. I really appreciate her techniques. I wanna look like womanly not manly. I know she has some harder mat work outs but I think this better than contemplating...An easy workout is better than no work out...Thanks for sharing the video.

  • this joke of a trainer, tells women no to lift more than 3lbs because it will make you bulk up. WHAT!!? I guess women won't be hugging or picking up their children any time soon. I'm sure Jillian Michaels lifts more than 3lbs. Listen to this joke if you want to stay fat. Why no invest in an adult ballet class if you want to do ballet. Much harder work and you'll learn something.

Great women trainers out there. This is not one of them.

  • awesome but

  • Comment removed

  • its great. I have been doing her program for about 6 months and its completely changed my body for the better

Also just in my everyday life, I feel light and strong and at ease in my body. Just bought her new download on Tracey Conect.

  • GELIFTET

  • umm how often would you do these exercises? like everyday or every other day?

  • Tracy says 6 days a week :)

  • I am pretty sure eveyone knows tracy didn't get her body by doing exercise and then cramming pizza in her gullet. Yes, some of her moves are pilates...does anyone really think jane fonda was 'original' please people. I think the majority of the snark is because she looks better than the people commenting. Deal. She looks better than me...but not for long. I have the balls to work at, stop whining and start working.

  • I disagree with your comment. Have you ever danced before? Probably not that's why you don't understand that the exercises she is demonstrating really do work and are difficult to do.

  • @vanessa141270

you're right.they are very difficult to do....

  • boring. several done wrong. needs to learn actual muscles and muscle groups instead of pointing and saying "you'll feel it here."

  • really? how is it that she has made madonna one of the most fit people ?

  • I have to chek out the Jane Fonda ones, Tracy's good but I can't say I have lots of fun with her videos. The ones I absolutely love are with Deanne Berry, she's super sweet and motivational.

  • Love her. And I had trouble lifting the 3 pounds! Her workouts are serious.

  • you just have to do it and do it everyday... In a couple of days.. you feel lighter doing it.. and not straining..

  • hellloooo...Jane Fonda called and she wants her workout back.

  • hilarious

  • Haha, you're right

  • I have her work out videos and i love them.

The only thing that I'm not crazy about is her chair leg thing.

But the arms and ab work = awesome.

  • could you tell me where you bought the videos b/c many people have had big problems purchasing her videos from her site. infact amazon no longer works with her..thanks

  • I just purchased her Mat workout from Amazon last week.. It is there.

  • was it worth buying?are you happy with the purchase?

  • It kicks my ass... But that's a good thing. I've only just received it and tried it 2 times so far. I haven't been able to make it through the whole thing yet without stopping, but I want to be able to!

  • thanks for replying..did you buy the cardio dance dvd?

  • or you could just take a ballet class...

  • She hasn't introduced anything new at all. the exercises are pilates. Anyway, it has no sense doing exercises if the food alimentation is not equilibrated or sane.

No sense doing exercises and eat fish and chips, or hamburger and coke(that has aspartame that gives cancer) or the rest crap of food some people eat.

  • it's all old jane fonda floor work exercises, lotte berk, pilates and callanetics. nothing new, you're right.

  • things at all. Anyway, it has no sense doing exercises if the alimentation is not equilibrate or sane.

No sense doing exercises and then eat fish and chips, or hamburger and coke or crap like that !!!

  • she dos not introduce anything that has not been done before. She is just combining it better

  • where can i buy the tracy anderson dvds in nz?

  • Amazon - can thoroughly recommend the mat workout & post baby workout dvd's (even if you haven't had a bub) the dance cardio is too tricky for me as I am not a dancer! (Australia)

  • let me warn u that numerous people including myself have never received her videos and amazon has stopped working with her company . they just say it got lost in the mail..very unprofessional..

  • thankyou for ur help

  • there is no need to insult this women...let her be jeez

  • I'm really confused by why some people are saying this is a waste. I just did the mat video and I usually don't have a problem with workout videos but this one was tough! The arm part was especially difficult! If it were a waste, my muscles wouldn't be sore. This may be a video I can actually stick with because it allows me to set goals, the goal being able to get through the video without having to put my arms down or stop for a second ;) PS I totally don't agree with her diet though

  • Her exercises makes sense because a lot of them seem to mimic ballet, which makes you very strong and lean...it will just take a lot longer to see results, but that it usually what keeps people fit in the long run!

  • Tracy used to be a professional dancer, which is why you see a lot of ballet used in her exercises.

  • Oh okay, didn't know that! :)

  • Comment removed

  • Love her and I can't wait for my matt dvd to arrive!

  • She seems to know what she is doing, and has a good attitude about things. I've just ordered her new dvd off amazon, so here's hoping it all works out lol x

  • i think this girl is awesome!

she shows new exercises! not the same old boring ones everyone knows. i like how in all the videos with her she encourages you to do 50 or 100 reps. she doesnt want you to think your not going to get results without hard work!

  • Of course she understand fitness! If she didn't understand fitness she would not be the trainer of Madonna and Gwneth Paltrow.

  • How come?

They don't understand fitness more than any other regular Joe.

The only thing that differs them from us is that they have personal chefs, personal trainers etc, and a very high pressure on them to look "good".

This doesn't mean that they would actually know what to do to get fitter. And if you like Madonna dance 5 hours a day you're gonna be fit.

  • oh and gwyneth has a hott husband too

  • anyone hear what she said on Oprah with Gwyneth Paltrow? "no woman should lift more than 3 lbs"...every woman lifts more than 3 lbs every day in just daily life...and she makes Paltrow work out 2-3hrs/day in an 80 degree room...its simply dangerous...this woman does not understand fitness or anything about it

  • Have you done her mat workout? Believe me you will only be able to lift three pound weights. For real... have you TIRED any of her DVD's before you decided to judge?

  • I'm pretty sure she means when lifting weights.

  • She has a child... I am sure she understands that we lift more than 3 lbs. in every day life. She is purely speaking of the workout.

  • @buckybooch24

working out for 2-3 hours in a 80 degrees is not dangerous. It's called hot yoga.

  • @dancngraindrop02

You might want to learn to qualify things a bit here. It is certainly risky for people w/respiratory issues or even those w/hypermobility issues that result in joint laxity and instability. Women are at greater risk for this and I've had to work w/some yogis, including instructors, on this issue. Some moms, especially those who've had multiple children can have SI joint dysfunction and need pelvic/lumbar stability work, NOT hot yoga. That would actually be contraindicated.

  • this is ridiculous. I have watched several videos to see if they have any merit. All I can say is after 20 years in fitness, the only thing you'll get from these movements is hurt.
