@penn919 Please help my thinking? How does one "volunteer for prison" for someting that is not even a crime.
Second, how can you say she's "reaping the benefits" of what she has done. She could be in AGONY every day about having ended the lives of two of her children. Try reaping that for the rest of your life. It's not the same a getting a wart removed, most women have strong maternal instincts that may be squelched for a time while thinking about their convenience but long-term may come out
@Proteanview So if someone has ever told a lie they can't say that lying is wrong. If I ever got in a fight I can't say assault is wrong. People's views can change. People do repent. Poor argument due to fallacious logic.
You can take what ever stance you want on any given issue, but merely changing your position on something like lying or fighting is completely different. We're talking about A women who had two abortions who now wants to classify them as MURDER and not merely as things that are wrong. she should be volunteering her ass to prison rather than condemning others as criminals for something she herself did and is now reaping the benefits from.
I agree! It's also ironic when people like Newt Gingrich or Rush Limbaugh go around "fighting for the sanctity of marriage" when they've been married several times.
@DrHeinersSanatorium OMG! I've just shown my ignorance to the whole YT world. I must get that Complete Works of Shakespeare and do some homework. Doh!
I think some of you who are fervently pro-abortion need to look at the numbers, just as proteanview did with drug laws. There is tremendous racial disparity with abortions, and if you go back and learn how abortion as a social policy was implemented in this country, those racial disparities were a sought after goal. In the abstract of course there is good reason to support abortion, but does the abstract justify our reality where minorities are essentially targeted for abortion?
Even Goldwater, one of the 'founders' of the modern conservative movement, HATED the Religious Right and was so sick of how radical the GOP became not even 30 years after he ran for president.
The authoritarian mindset typically claims it's "just helping society", no matter what form it takes. I still can't believe Americans fall for that SHIT! WAKE UP, right-wingers. Wake up, conservative Democrats, esp. in the South.
I'm not buying that crap one bit about how they LOVE AMERICA SO MUCH that they wanna "save our moral fiber", and THAT'S the "reason" why they wanna ban shit like gay marriage or abortion.
These people will only TRULY be "saved" once they ban those things which THEY already did but feel guilty about because they were brainwashed by OTHER conservatives before them to think it's "sooo wrong." By BANNING that shit, they will not be able to do it again without a) feeling guilty and/or b) getting 'punished', which will REINFORCE their conscious subconscious views of how 'dirty' these "sinful" acts really are.
Max Blumenthal documents all the baggage that the Religious Right has TREMENDOUSLY in his book "Republican Gomorrah." He shows DOZENS of Religious Right leaders and family values Republicans who have 'sinned' at least a few times or have serious mental problems, and I suspect this is EXACTLY why they feel the need to a) try to force everyone to be "pristine" like them and b) why they feel the need to reinforce the idea that "salvation' is best.
What's always confused me is it's religious people who are against abortion. Many consider the mother to be a "filthy whore who can't be a good mother". They also talk about how we're "born sinners, and sin keeps us from God". A fetus is sinless, & God is "loving". Say if Christianity is true, & a woman has an abortion, that means: A. the child gets a free ticket to Heaven, or B. God will move its soul to a fetus wanted by the mother. You'd think Christians would be more pro-choice than anyone.
Well it's not a shock she'd have a guilt trip, considering the church teaches us that people who have consenting sex with an adult of their own gender, they're "equivalent" to pedophiles.
A religion of love would never want to make one have low self esteem. That alone should speak about the god of the religion and its followers.
I'm ALWAYS suspicious of those who always wanna take a strong stance against something...it's usually because they are guilty of the same stuff that they are crucifying others for!
@DrHeinersSanatorium Methinks the lady doth protest too much. From the "scottish play", as you know well Doc! I forgot who said it though. It wasn't actually MacBeth. Bugger, that's ten years bad luck. ; )
I think women who recklessly sleep around (don't know who the father is), get pump-n-dumped, "ride the carousel", and end up aborting multiple unborn babies (especially mid/late term) just so they can return back to a whoredom/party lifestyle, are utterly vile and selfish beyond comprehension. I use to be an avid supporter of abortions too. "Oh hell yeah girl, abort! I ain't tryna...", until I met a chick that said she had 5 abortions, FIVE! Again, for recklessly sleeping around. Disgusting.
Tu quoque... Now that I've gotten your logical fallacy out of the way, explain this one to me... How can something that is objectively human, and objectively alive not be a human life? Logic would demand that we reason it is in fact a human life. The taking of innocent human life is murder, so tell me, how is killing something that is both objectively human and alive NOT murder?
Actually, her position makes a lot of sense. We often make mistake when we are young that we only understand when we're older. You can bet your ass she leave with built. And she probably thought the least she could do is warm others. But maybe she's going a little to far. She could just work to warm others about the consequence of abortion.
@MustacheVerra i don't think being judgmental makes much sense. i wonder if, with he new conviction, she would choose to have both babies now, especially if she's poor. i wonder if she had felt the same way then as she does now, if she'd have the two babies
hahaha I double dare you to make this into a "study" with science and the works. People who anti this and that are more likely to be the very thing they are against. Pro life people bombed 1.6 million Iraq too. Go bible! I wonder if atheist are in love with war and bombs like the bible folk seem to be. If I were the devil the bible would be first thing I would create. It worked so far.
you notice how old ladies are always the most religious people? sometime after their hormones cool off they become really judgmental about sex. hypocritical hags.
well which is it? Did she murder two babies or not? Is it wrong for people to see the error of their ways and oppose it? Is it wrong for a convicted murderer to say murder is wrong? Your argument is wrong. I'm no fundamentalist Christian, but any idiot knows abortion is indeed murder. Not only is it right to judge those doing wrong, it's required in any society. You are very hypocritical and short-sighted in saying no one should judge others. You are doing the very same thing to her.
@Donnybrook10 He is saying that she is being a hypocrite because she hasnt thrown herself in jail for her two murders. And no abortion is not murder. Just like masturbation is not mass murder you buffoon. Sperm cells are alive too you know.

I'm not religious, I'm quite libertarian, but I'm sorry.. if you look at what Abortion is, it's pretty messed up, I don't think you have to be a religious whacko to kind of feel uneasy about it's practice... people who are for it typically delude themselves about what the procedure even is. I think Abortions should be limited to a very early stage and I push for more things like the morning after pill, I think doing an abortion after a few weeks is just sick.
Like you I am not religious and I look at abortion from a science/nature perspective. It is patently obvious to anyone who does modest research that after conception by only a few weeks, you have a viable life growing. The human heart starts beating about 21 days. Most nations around the world have an abortion cutoff at 10 weeks and even that is late. America is the outlier here.
@kmg501 Agreed, I don't get how they think it's hypocritical to make a stance based on experience and age regretting stupid things they did in their youth, is it not worse that most people who are Vegan and refuse to eat an animal because they are against killing are almost 100% of the time pro abortion? politically I'm in a grey area in it between considering it a horrible and wrong practice while also not wanting the feds to run peoples lives.
@jkessler410 It's all intellectual integrity. Those vegans are about as bad as pro-lifers who think nothing about wars of conquest and imperialism. All hypocrites.
