  • AMAZING VIDEO. Thanks. One question!

It doesn't show the close button or the left and right ones.

  • @md1997 hi, I just messaged you and then saw this message. the arrows are not showing because the JS file is looking for the images in a certain location. If you put the arrow images in a different place than in the tutorial, maybe an extra folder you placed them in then you will need to type the path into the javascript file. Just search using find and replace in the JS file for one of the image names and then you will be able to change the paths

  • THANK YOUUUUUUU!!! ♥

  • Hi, what did you do between 0:30 and 0:40? I don't see how to set it as a link or press OK,

  • @CandysCreations Hi, Go to the website, it has full code examples and written instructions. its Copy and Paste. - James

  • i followed the steps exacly but absoultly nothing happens, all that comes up is the bigger image in a diffrent page. is it to do with the thumbnails being inside a overlay div thing?

  • @williamhobson62 if nothing happens and assuming you coded the html correctly then you have not connected the script hooks correctly.

  • @DreamWeaverTutorial

So how do u connect script hooks? Does this video explain such thing, or any complications that may ocure? No it does not.

Cuz i checked, triple checked this tutorial, with dreamweaver next to it, followed every step, no luck..

  • @ChickCelineCS I show you how to do it in the tutorial. All you need to do is watch and copy. There should be no complications unless you have attention deficit disorder. If you drop the attitude I might help you. Put it online and send me the link and ill find the problem in 3 seconds flat.

  • @williamhobson62

    Same here

  • Also, is it posible to show a video instead of an image?

  • Great tutorial!

I have a question, is it possible to make this work with only one image on the webpage, but having lightbox show the other images in the folder?

  • Thanks for the tutorial! I finally found one that made it simple to understand for a newbie like me and it works!!

@ernesto95guitar I too have the same question. Did you figure this out? I have several thumbnails on the page, but want each one to launch and be able to file through 3-4 images that are not shown on the page. ie: a thumbnail of a web site & when launched shows different screens.

Can we use the same tutorial with minor modifications, or do we need to use something altogether new?

  • Hi, ive followed all your steps from the first video and this one, however when i click on my thumbnail, it loads as if it were a normal link. it just loads in a new page. ive saved everything and ive done everything that you have said. However, i am using a template file which i made, for all my pages, so ive been putting the codes into that. Would this possibly affect it?

  • really appreciate you made this tutorial!! i watched other videos too but it wasnt as easy as yours. thank you so much

  • Great tutorial

  • I am just learning about Lightbox now, after being asked to produce a simple image gallery page.

Your video looks good and I'll go through it a few times to get the hang of things.

Just one question ... will this work with the old browsers, say IE6.

The reason I ask, is that the web site i have been asked to help with is mainly viewed by old folk, some of whom will be using old browsers.

    thanks !

  • @wbmkk hi yes it is backwards compatible and works with IE6 with no problems. - James

  • @DreamWeaverTutorial

Thank you for your quick reply.

  • Thanx you! you been very helpfull

  • hands down best tutorial on youtube, thanks again

  • Thankyou, i'm a beginner and have found this quite straight forward.

    Cheers!

  • The javascript script? Everything is linked to the folder that has the images in it "jquerylightbox/images/nextbutton.gif" it doesn't seem as if the paths are incorrect.

  • @liskate288 if its online ill take a look send me the link. It is definately the file paths otherwise they would be showing up no problems.

  • I followed the tutorial through every step and the css points directly to the button images in the folder they are in. For some reason when the lightbox pops up the prev and next buttons don't show up.. but they work if you click.. And the Close button shows up and works but theres an annoying little blue box with a question mark hovering over the button.. Can you help me?

  • @liskate288 hi, you need to change the file paths to the next and previous buttons. go inside of the light box script and look for the button names using find and replace.

    correct the paths. i.e mysite/images/button.gif

  • @DreamWeaverTutorial

I'm having the same problem, and I don't really know what to do. I went back in and changed the file paths and it didn't work. I'm new to Jquery and to coding, and everything right now is working fine other then the button.s what do you suggest?

Is it the name of the folder everything is contained in? or the name you gave it when making it a root folder in DW?

    I'm so confused.

Thanks for the help is you can give it, and thanks for the tutorial.

  • Dude you rule, thanks so much!

  • thannnkkk youu so muchhh, you have given to me hope to find a job now :)

  • @juandark85 Great ! Im glad you liked the lightbox tutorial :)

  • hello- i having another issue! when i view my lightbox, it still prompts to go to the "next" image even though it is on the last image of my page. when i hit next, the "loading" image shows up and continues to load a blank image until i click again and the lightbox finally closes. i checked to see if my divs were closed correctly and they appear to be.

any ideas of what is causing this?

  • @ermeg sounds like an image path with dimensions, but which is empty. If you provide a link to an online example I should be able to diagnose the problem with the jquery lightbox. - James

  • i'm also having trouble with my lightbox navigation buttons (loading, next, close). i check the path in my jquery.lightbox-0.5.min.js file and double checked that the script was pointing to the correct path-- still having problems :-/

    any suggestions?

  • @ermeg nevermind! got it all figured out-- tiny, tiny error in my path! --but wonderful tutorial. helped me tremendously. thanks!

  • my next buttons and close buttons show up as a red x or just dont show up....can you help me?

  • @AOUxSilentWisher Yes that will be the path to the buttons. if they are in a certain folder you will need to make sure that the script is pointing correctly to those button images.

  • @DreamWeaverTutorial o ok thanks
