I need contacts and information for the Occupy movement in Missouri. I don't know anyone who is involved and I need some help getting involved myself. Can anyone help me out please?
@whyamimrpink78 Are you implying that I am not smart b/c I want to change the way things are done in the US? Look around you. Our system is failing. We need to make some modifications to the way our country is run. Or would you rather watch the rich get richer and watch your neighbor starve? Things are getting worse, not better.
@Sarasince1992 Our system was doing great until the government tried to change it. We will always have rich people, that is great for the economy. What isn't great is when rich aren't allowed to invest their money to create jobs and progress man. What we need to do is take control of the government again because right now it is out of control and go back to small federal government and more state rights.
@whyamimrpink78 Well, that's what I'm saying. It was doing great, but it isn't anymore. The Occupy movement is trying to improve our current situation. Like you said, we need to take control of the government again. That's the whole point of Occupy Wallstreet, getting the power back in the hands of the 99%.
This is the beginning of our 1776. How fitting that the room has brick on one wall and wood accents that remind you of a time long ago when our forefathers sat cramped in a room, trying to work out the details of what would become our new nation. Change requires commitment. Even when there seems like little progress forward is happening, commitment will get us there.
Viva la revolution, viva la revolution, VIV LA REVOLUTION!!! I hope they lock up the criminal, tyrannical main culprits of the finical industry. After that we need to re-regulate it so that it can never happen again. Then we can get on with building an America the world can be proud of. If this does not happen we will continue to destroy ourselves and world and only continue to bring shame on the reputation of America. I hope they succeed in their endeavours and I wish them all the bets in 2012.
@MoonShineProds, Yep, they hire the best of the best chemists to ADDICT, they have lied to CONGRESS, They KILL millions annually, They BRIBE officials and they NEVER go to jail. Try to change the system that promotes that GREED and CORRUPTION and you will be labelled anti-freedom, anti-american, a terrorist, and you will go to jail. The kicker here for me is that I think this CORRUPTION is rampant in just about every industry, institution, and governmental body. I can no longer trust anything
@MoonShineProds, Sorry, wish things were better for you and everyone. I know the crimes of the past way heavy on our hearts. Perhaps a notable perspective to ponder is that Native Americans introduced tobacco to the Europeans. I wonder how many people have died horrible deaths as a result. Not to mention the incredible profits made by tobacco executives. What a shining example of Profit at any cost. Truly the gold in our eyes has blinded our humanity and good sense. Love to you and yours.
"Capitalism is not Evil nor is it good. It is a social tool. There are no evil hammers or good hammers"...
While that is true, maybe it would be easier to deal with if it was evil. Capitalism is heartless, unethical, and disambiguate. And that is UNACCEPTABLE. It moves for the greater profit to the fewest people, and that hurts the majority of Americans.
We seem to pretend that this is new but infact the US has always been heartless, unethical, and disambiguous in our foreign and domestic affairs. However, this is not the fault of Capitalism so much as it is our blood line cultural attachment to Manifest Destiny. Just ask the Native Americans how many treaties we have honored. Until we assert that the Global Resources are the Common Heritage of all mankind and deconstruct the divisive monetary based Global antieconomies we will not know peace.
Capitalism is not Evil nor is it good. It is a social tool. There are no evil hammers or good hammers. When a hammer is used to kill the hammer is still not evil. When the hammer is used to build a home the hammer is still not good. To question the failings of a people living in a social tool is paramount for sharpening, fixing, and developing new tools. What is wrong with the tool of Capitalism you may ask?? For one it requires an infinite growth paradigm on a finite planet. Unsustainable.
@MeibukanMaster For everything he has disclosed to the world through his documentaries he has really earned the right for the money he has received...It is people like Moore that is opening everyone's eyes, and that is worth a lot more then a nice house or a nice car...Have you considered how he paid to make those movies?
Those, lets say 15 million Dollars, he has will be in a much better pocket to use then any of the 1 %
I think I went through the whole range of emotions watching this, I wanted to smile, laugh, cry, get angry, everything! I've gained a lot of respect for Michael Moore with his involvement with #OWS.
@Bosoxfanpw7 I remember when he first appeared on Liberty Plaza, in the early days, as one of the first famous people to do so. It was a huge and much appreciated gesture, at a time when the whole movement seemed very, very precarious. That's why it's especially odd that, at the end, the Spokes stack-taker welcomes Moore to OWS; Moore was probably around before that guy was.
What was the meeting with the sign and the craziness?

@Sarasince1992 There is no occupy movement in Missouri because citizens in Missouri are smart enough not to have one.
