  • beautiful

  • nice looking fish glad they only keep them for a while then release them when they get a bit bigger (and start preying on other tank mates)

  • The Aquarium has no intention of holding a white shark that is larger than 6 feet long, 200 lbs. I volunteer there on Sundays and work with husbandry staff to feed tuna and clean the tuna holding tanks, so I also get to see the current white shark quite frequently. We released our most recent baby about 2 weeks ago; she was about 5.5 feet long, about 100 lbs. We have no intention of holding one longer than 6 months in captivity.

  • you cant stop that shark from its instinct.

  • This young sharks

  • Yay they released her back into her home. :-)

  • For some reason Great Whites can not survive in captivity. Does anyone know what eventually happened to this one? Did it survive or did it die? I hope they released back into the wild where it belongs.

  • my almost uncle randy is telling the shark to swim ahahaha

  • i have a terrible fear of water lakes, rivers the sea but this is what fasinates me about this animal since i saw jaws when a kid it struck fear into me but there also suck a beautiful animal please lord dont let them be extinct the world and sea would never be the same with out them if i ever get the cash together im gonna pluck up the courage to go diving with them love them

  • sharks really don't lyk the taste of ppl and they only eat about every 3 moths

  • We're just too bony for them.

  • Sharkgoddess , don´t know if you are aware but white sharks just got protected status here in Mexico, whale sharks and mantas too, way cool

  • Thank God. Those sharks need to be protected.

  • guys.. not cool. white sharks and great white sharks are friendly.. they just follow instincts when they eat things.. they DIE quick in captivity.

  • You dont understand that this one shark in captivity gets millions of visitors which will raise awareness and in return can help save the lives of the millions of sharks humans kill each year...

  • Very true... very true.

  • cool video, if you like sharks check out adoptashark(dot)com where scientists let you adopt a shark that has a satellite tag and you find out where the shark went. They use the money to buy more tags and learn more about sharks

  • i hate to see them in tanks like they are there for our amusement but i also can open my mind to see that if we can learn how to keep them incaptivity safely and the special got to the point of near extinctiaon at least we could try to bring the species back , great whites are my fav animal and im saving up to go to south africa to go diving with them in the cadge under water and see them up close its my 1 dream in life

  • Heh, my one dream in life is to hitch a ride on the dorsal fin of a great white. South Africa for me as well then.

  • at least someon here can say something sensible :) i agree 100% with u

  • Whaite sharcks can't live in captivity.

  • Great Whites just die in Captivity, noone knows why.

  • I thought Great Whites were protected. Its a known fact that these sharks cannot adapt or live in captivity. its disgraceful. What next, get one of the most amazing creatures in the world to do backflips for seal burgers.?

  • If you like sharks check out adoptashark(dot)com it´s a website where you can adopt a shark, even a great white, with a satellite tag and they tell you where it went in the ocean, how deep, and more, very cool

  • dont worry about the poor shark its in hands of experts... i think xD

  • We'll throw anything in captivity won't we. What a damn shame.

  • I don't like of this.

    Shark's want life to free!

  • so are they gonna release it when it gets bigger?

  • this is sad :(

  • awww cute little fellow. I love sharks, but i prefer the babies to the fully grown ones

  • awesome GW sharks are my favorite sea animal

I do feel sorry for it tho being captured

  • Yes, but as soon as it was showing signs of distress they released it, tracking it to make sure it was alright. The MBA is very kind to all their animals. Yes, the animals probably do not want to be captured, but if it teaches people about sea life and how we need to protect them then it's worth it.
