@1softkiss Are u mental? There are easily more dogs as pets and those dogs are not always kept in cages etc so the stats will obviously show in the snakes favor. The fact is this is a big fuckin snake, one mistake and that little fella is brown bread. I have a 1 yr old corn snake i put my hand in the tank to change her water the other day 2 days after a feed and she tried to bite me..thats a fuckin corn snake....go figure

I do believe that snakes can be raised to nice .. It's the same seem with raising any animal. It depends on the owner. How much compassion you show towards the animal, and how much you work with it to train it, and not make it an asshole. I truly believe that, but snakes are just not my choice of pet. I like turtles, puppies and kitteh's better :3

The dog Understands and has a close connection with her. My sister is 3. Now, if she played with that snake the same as the she does with the dog, it would have her. You say snakes only bite out of fear. defense hunger? what if that kid moves suddenly or grabs it in a way the snake doesnt like?

@foryourlugsonly What happens when a kid pulls a dogs tail? Anything with a mouth can bite, and every living creature has a right to defend its self from anything its perceives as a threat. Snakes are not dogs so what a dog might tolerate and a snake will are two different things. Also all animals are individuals, what one dog will let a person get away with, another may bite for, and its the same with snakes.

Snakes DO bond with their handlers I know I've raised big constrictors for 49 years. Snakes only strike and bite when being defensive or when being fed. The more they are worked with and handled the more they trust humans. I have two snakes that actually will stand and protect and defend me if someone walks up on me without notice. Snakes prefer to avoid humans so when they do trust and bond they no longer consider humans as a predator.

Right, so they see you as prey instead. I think I rather keep the distrust and not try to "bond" with this pre-historic reptile. These creatures have been around as top predators for probably hundreds of millions of years. Do you think that they all of the sudden can become docile, trusted pets because you want them to be? People are sadly mistaken if they believe 1, 2 or even 3 generations raised in captivity can dissuade a snake from being a predator that relies on instinct.

@Quebeconnect Experienced people wouldn't agree with you but I'm not going to force my 49 years of experience opinions on anyone. We can't tame any snake because we can't take away what nature and instinct has equipped them with but they learn to trust their handler and if fed right and content in their environment and they know through experience you're not a predator they have no negative actions toward you. My cat and Ball Pythons curl up and sleep together and play together.

@kirikakirikakirika I've raised snakes for 49 years and have two 11 foot Boa Constrictors and Pythons that sun bathe with my cat and curl up and sleep with my 12 year old cat. Why would a snake size up a human as a food item and not attack a cat for food? People really need to think about these false assumptions and stop assuming they are so well educated about snakes when they have never raised them. Snakes love the warmth of a human body has nothing to do with wanting to eat them ROFLMAO

I've had some of my snakes get out and they climbed up in my bed and laid up against me and went to sleep til I moved. A snake that is hungry doesn't size up a food item. If hungry it strikes to eat, if not it's only seeking heat and warmth from a humans body temps. This is why it's SO important for people to handle their snakes and learn to read their body language :O)

@kirikakirikakirika The ONLY way to tame ANY wild animal would be to deprive it of it's instincts which nature has provided them with to survive and there is no way to take that away from any animal. They do learn to trust and bond with humans and they realize we are the ones that provide them with food and care for them. If someone makes a bad judgment call or is careless, the end result is that person gets bit or mauled or both but that's not animal error, that's human error.
