There is a bus system which is pretty good and there is also the MARTA rail system to take you to/fro Atlanta. But I've never tried to do without a car here so I can't say for sure.
I love Alpharetta fall mornings. Its crisp, cold and sunny, usually no clouds. And the snowfall was a record this year for us! It hadn't snowed that much since I was 8. As a matter of fact, the first wednesday it snowed was my birthday. :)
