Scirocco 2 Morocco 4 Leukaemia 2008. Update

I have a fully restored 82 scirocco looks just like yours but blue. I built it as a show car and wanted to get a magazine shoot out of her but was always too busy racing it. That car has more character and HP than anything in its class. Ie japanese car owners always got PWNED by her. I always love d the reaction i got from others. 180 HP 2.0 L was a great motor. I still have her.

i think the early mk 2 scirocco came in a 1.5 ,1.6,1.8 carbs then the 1.8 injection but there are lots of different types of scirocco out there! i own the 1.6 gt and its still pretty nippy for a carb model from 1986. i believe the most powerfull was the byturbo model,they made 2 types but never went in to production,it was just testing the water for a 4wd

How far was that journey?.

We did the Scirocco 2 Morocco trip in 2008 in the same car+ a half roc trailer.9 and a half days,3979 miles and a lot of fun.

Did the Mk2 come in 1.3 version? As i know a 17 year old lad that has one, but im puzzled to how he can get insurance on it. Maybe it qualified for classic insurance? It cant be a 1.6 or 1.8. Anyone know cos its pissing me off. Im 19 and I get ridiculous quotes for most cars.

@cityflyguy : Early MK2 came in 1.3 engine version but only for 1 year afaik and i dont know if they have been introduced in GB as RWD version. So i dont think you will find any of them, also from 1985 on they used better chassis quality with nearly rust-free steel. Also please keep in mind that only the GT2 models early 90"s got power steering as standard, on all other models this was just an option.

PS: I own 2 Sciroccos, a GT2 and a GT2 16V:) - go for it . Lovely cars and very reliable.
