yeah, thanks for ruining our pastime and for being idiots and trying to model D&D after World of Warcraft. Leave the game where it was, in the niche it belongs. It'll never sell as big as WoW and you stupid corporate suits need to stop trying to capitalizing on something that doesn't provide the kind of capital you greedily desire! Last time i checked in wow i run around in a area and kill random monsters to get a level. If i try to do this in my D&D game , run around and kill wolves to gain a level , my dungeon master would kick my ass in real life. I have played d&d from 1st edition ad&d to 4e now. The game is different i will not say it didnt change. If you like a old version better nothing is stopping you from playing that version. And please give me the definition of a REAL GAMER i would like to know.

A real gamer is someone who can see 4E for what it is and not buy into the stupid hype and stupid style of gaming it possesses. Actually, a real gamer can still play 4E but will actually agree that 4E is not D&D, just another game under a different name. Also, last I checked, 4E has nothing but combat encounters and RP encounters where you roll dice to "defeat" them in order to advance. Heck, you're supposed to be fighting gods by the time you reach between 25th-30th level. It's pen&paper VG.

So because i chose a different version of a game that makes me not a real gamer??? Like i said if you like a different version of the game stick with that. To the comment about fighting gods.....umm no!!!! I have run epic level games from 2nd to 4th and none of my players go prank calling gods cause they are 25th level. If your group or dungeon master is not able to run epic stuff and you are having to stay at low level thats fine but some of us can run high level content.

I am sad to see what you've done WotC. Your failboat has departed. It will sink with all the rusted holes you've left with the D&D fan base. My friend owns a Gaming shop. He sold plenty of 4e core books, then nothing from that point, and now they just gather dust.

Wow and that could have nothing to do with the economy could it. The fact that nothing is selling well and huge companies are failing right now. I am not trying to pick a fight or anything but the reason your friends shop might not be doing so well is that nothing is doing well right now. If you do not like the new version of the game i have no problem with that.

I never said his shop is failing. I said 4e is not selling. His hobby business is doing well. Remember D&D is not the only game out there. As for what I see, many of the old fan base are looking to other companys to fill their gaming needs. This might not be true for your local area. However it is for mine.

My hobby shop is the same exact way. The owner, whom I personally know, bought 40 of each of the core books and only sold 3 sets. The rest are still collecting dust, since JUNE! Almost everyone I talk to here in STL sees 4th Edition as a crap version of D&D Minis and is smart enough to stick with 3.5E

Well lets see I personally ordered the books off line because i dont know about yours but my locale hobby shoppes didnt have the deals that i could get online. Alot of gamers have moved away fro hooby shops cause of prices. If you dont like 4e dont play it. Im not trying to start a flame war i am just sick of this if u play version x of a game some jerkoff trys to tell me im not a "REAL" gamer. Its just funny that people who play 2nd ed think the same thing of u for playing 3rd. It seems dumb.
