  • Has ANYONE ELSE noticed that this song is about a BOOTY CALL?

  • Something tells me that Luther Vandross also told her how to sing this as weel because some of here vocal choices are things that he would do, although she's such a lazy singer, it sounds like she loosing steam trying to do it...

  • @T1000Mr

You are one of the few people who can give an honest view. I know they got into a spat about the vocals of this song so he probably did. She is lazy singer, her and Chaka Khan and running mates for the laziest singers.

  • @1980Triumph yeah in Luther's biography it talk about that spat in detail, Luther Vandross was great with phrasing when he sang and as a producer wanted to hear the things he wrote sound like what he envisioned it to be, although, I wouldn't call Chaka Khan a lazy singer, Chaka has had her days but I get more excited hearing her that Aretha...or Dionne, who Luther orginally produced "So Amazing" for, and also had to tell her how he wanted her to sing it...

  • @T1000Mr

Chaka wasn't a lazy singer in the 70's and early 80's on tape but her live concerts are terrible, she hides her laziness with a great band and great background singers who pick up the slack, she exbits no vocal control that she displays on her records.

And yes Dionne is probably the most boring entertainer ever and Aretha is mid paced to me, being heavy hasn't helped her of course.

  • @1980Triumph LMFAO!, you're harsh haha, but I've seen live performances where Chaka has done that, it's funny there is a you tube vid on here of a live concert I was actually at where her session vocalists took up the slack on "Everlasting Love" ,and I saw her recently and she tore it up, I think she has bad nights, which an artist is entitled to, but despite that, considering what she did to her voice, to still have it's clarity at 57 is really good, although I don't know what 67 will bring...

  • those horns are crackin' in the background....the background singers are chirpin'...and Aretha is bringin' the FUNK. Everything is OK, with the World, today!...can I get an Amen?!!

  • Back in the summer of 83' this song was all over the airwaves 4 those of us who remember. It was a really HOt summer that year. Re re is a classy fox,all hail the queen!

  • Who is Kevin? Brenda's son? Aretha's sons are Clarence, Eddie,Teddy, and Kealf. Clarence sang a duet with Aretha on her last christmas cd. Her son Teddy plays guitar and is in her band.
