Also, Chicago is the only other place I have heard the term "jagoff " used as an insult.

It is very commonly used here, and is considered " Pittsburghese".

I was born in Toronto but I grew up in Chicaahgo (Hyde Park & Lincoln Park) but like my mom I speak a non-rhotic dialect and don't use my R's for some reason and talk very clear and sharp. Alot of people (especially out south) ask me if I'm from the East Coast. I'm black and never use the word "Joe", or say ignorant shit like "you bogus as hell Joe" - that always sounded stupid to me! However, I do say "as helll" when describing the intensity of certain things like "damn, she thick as helll"
