@BasementBunkbeds So what songs would you suggest that work better than the song I choose? Don't forget it needs to have the right tempo. If it's too fast or too slow it's not going to work well for tricks.
@SirThomas8 The techno isn't bad, it's just that it's predictable. You also don't have to have a tempo that's exactly the same as the speed of your tricks.Try maybe a more jazzy song like 'Black and Gold' or something more Hip-Hop like 'Ring-a-Ling'.m Also if you pick something that everyone knows/likes, it makes your audience automatically familiar with one aspect of your performance.
@BasementBunkbeds i appreciate your suggestions, but unless ne1 here is as intimately familiar with my juggling skill level and weight of the sticks as i am then it's going to be hard to find a song with better tempo. "B & G" is nice but a tad too slow and doesn't have the dynamic changes that make "Ready Steady Go" great for choreographing. Also, juggling isn't about women, parties, or sex. The few lyrics in "RSG" fit perfectly as well as it's tempo and dynamic rhythm.
@SirThomas8 Ah. Excuse me then. Just curious, what type of sticks do you use? Mine are Masters, so they can go different speeds more easily. Also, any tips on keeping the baton in contact with your stick (1:50)? I can only get like 2 1/2 rotations before I lose control...
@BasementBunkbeds The best I can tell you is that the goal is to apply an opposite (centrifugal) force from the direction the baton is spinning. If you're able to do two rotations I'm surprised you can't keep it going. Check Lunastix.com, I think they have a video of it (I think it's called California Roll).
good luck! and post some videos of you juggling! Oh, and I use Masters as well. The heavier the stick the slower it changes direction due to inertia. Equinox or Jester sticks spin faster.
first of all this is not techno, this is uk garage/breakbeat, second of all, jazz might just bore someone to death, try some good old dubstep, or some dnb. sure to be a hit.
really good stuff my bruva , keep practising as there is something BIG coming up in the world of sticks, I should know as im the one thats bringing it.. see you in the future.....
Amazing - I've been learning for a while now, and I come back to this video when I need inspiration! By the way, could you tell me the name of the music you used? Cheers
It all depends on your experience and skill. Master sticks are good for typical play. The extra weight of the Wizard sticks makes for a faster play. The shorter length of the Wizards means less surface for error. I'd say if your really good at juggling sticks and need a challenge and a twist, pick up the Wizards. Masters are best for those learning. I really enjoy Equinox sticks...
by horiz. move i think you prolly mean the helicopter. well, the helicopter is like the tic-toc, but to give it the horizontal motion, simply do the tic-toc xept when you catch it with say, your right stick, move your stick out from you slightly as you flick it back to your left stick. when you catch it with your left stick, move your arm slightly in towards you as you flick it back to your right stick and repeat. that will start to give the tic-toc a circular motion. good luck
I usually use masters, however for this performance I am using my Glow sticks. I was initially going to use black lights, so i began practicing on the glo sticks and got accustomed to their feel, so i didnt think it a good idea to switch sticks.
@SirThomas8: really nice music to play are songs by martin jondo!
pretty nice video! i think i can do all of your tricks too. exept for the one round ur back ;)
but the last trick (the jumprope) was fail^^ you didn't catch the stick agian :P u just throw it into the curtain^^

Yes, however the glow sticks are just slightly heavier, not a significant difference.
