  • If you listen closely, you can hear his little sounds of surprise and pleasure as he picks.

  • oleeeeee ,maestro.......que maravilla

  • Jen's could stretch two nose hairs over a pig's ass and make good music with it. I like al good banjo picker's but this guy is quite a cut above most of them. Love his slow songs

  • i have a maple banjo and it has no sustain though i havent changed the strings in 2 years ha!

  • How does this compare to the Deering Calico Blonde 5-String Banjo I wish you would compare the two!

  • I wonder if they still ship quack cult narrow-wit scientology garbage literature when you send in the warranty card.

Jens is such a fine player, he can make any banjo sound great. It's too bad they stink up what are nice banjos by tainting them with mind cult stuff. It cost them three sales with me, but I guess that was good for Stelling and C of T.

  • Oh lord that sounds good, this guy is just full of music.

  • Never heard of you before today - you are one of the greatest banjo players I have ever heard!!!

  • i think it sound way WAY too hollow, thats a feedback disaster waiting too happen haha

  • @hobojoe722

After a bit of warmup noodling, he's playing "Wind in the Wheat" from their album

"The Suite" from their concert program. Beautiful instrumental CD you can

order direct from the Kruger Brothers website. One of my favorites! Enjoy

  • yea don't think the banjo has much to do with it it's all about the touch.

  • DEERINGS RULE

  • I prefer the tone of the Gibson scruggs over the Calico. Gibson hold their value much better as well.

  • The Gibson banjos made in the last 25 years don't hold their value? They really are not very good instruments. The same can be said for their guitars of the last 25 years.

  • This recording really doesn't do the Calico justice. I had the chance to play one at the Deering factory not too long ago. It has great note definition, which you can hear in this recording. But it's also very responsive. The thing that struck me is how sonorous it is. The sustain and complexity of the harmonics is unlike any other banjo I've heard. I

  • This guy could make a popsicle stick and a fishing line sound good. Truly one of the best. Cheers Jens!

  • What is the portion from 0:39 to 0:44?
