  • ‎"A man, his wife, and the man she used to love" living together underground. What could possibly go wrong?

  • fantastic movie

  • My bad. I thought this was a documentary on Detroit.

  • So the world is ending. Get over it. Man up. Grow a pair sissy pants. I bet Dana Andrews was thinking "There not paying me enough for this".

  • This was remade in to the Core starring Hillary Swank...it also flopped.

  • Movie is pure SF but not viable as when it was written, the idea of tectonic plates were not taken into account somehow..so the earth breaking into two...highly improbable.

  • I love this film, it has everything a B movie feature should have.

destination moon is another incredible film, it looks cheap and clumsy nowadays but it was filmed in 1950 before man went into space so all the science dialogue parts were all a best guess about what to expect on a journey to the moon.

Plus its in that insane technicolor which always looks trippy if your a stoner anyway.

  • The original Deepwater Horizon. Whoever made this trailer wasn't thinking very hard, it's a spoiler for the entire movie.

  • This was actually a pretty clever science fiction film

  • Fell in live with when I saw it for the first time...and I was only 4. Got the DVD and pre-ordered in Blue-Ray thru Amazon.

  • Wow, 2012 in 1964!

  • I've loved this movie since I saw it on the Big Screen in 1965. Incredible special effects for 1964.

  • Google "Determined scientists vow to drill into Earth's mantle" just like in this movie...

  • This could happen; they are talking about it right now!

  • A film to show next year - when the Earth REALLY ends!

  • This would be a good one to watch on a Sat night.

  • Thats pretty good train wreck scene

  • yeah HAARP could do this

  • Oh brother; "Life imitating art" as CO2 sequestration ‘splodes in Saskatchewan as CO2 bubbles to the surface killing cows and pets (per story 1-11-2011 in the Winnipeg Free Press titled: "Carbon injected underground now leaking, Saskatchewan farmer's study says")!

    .

  • In the late 60s, ABC televised this whenever they had nothing better to show, which was often.

  • Great Movie the crack is on DVD now for the world.

  • HAARP -- High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program

  • wtf how did i end up watchin this? i was wathcin feet like 2 mins ago wtf lol

  • So...a nuclear warhead will split the entire earth in two, but an H-bomb will put it back together?

  • Crack in My Ass--You'll thank God it's only a YouTube comment.

  • @lesorciercalifornien what if the crack went all the way around and broke you in two

  • Listening to the scientific jargon including caps, shafts and so forth along with total abandonment to logic because of money, I hope the BP incident in the Gulf of Mexico does not have a similar conclusion as this movie! If you look under Google videos, you can see the entire movie.

  • Yes it created a second moon.

And just a thought for some earlier posts, why don't you other wackos put your political ramblings on a political website and leave these pages for people who enjoy movies and have real questions and coments. I tire of the nonsense, stupidity, and vitriol.

Oh, and by the way. When cursing at me for pointing out your inanity, please censor yourself. Anyone can get their point across without vulgarity. Besides my children and many others have access to these pages

  • Doesn't this movie end in the creation of another moon orbiting the Earth? I seem to remember that watching this film as a little kid. Of course, it seems like it's been 100 years since viewing it, so my memory may be off. But I vaguely recall this weird shot of the surviving humans looking up through a chasm somewhere to see the second moon forming in the smokey sky. If that's accurate, and not just a dream I had, that's a pretty dramatic ending.

  • this fine movie will be out on DVD in August WS, 16:9

  • @gennx30

FOR REAL!?!?! I hope you're telling the truth, because I've been wanting to get a decent copy of this for ages. I think they (hopefully PARAMOUNT) is probably doing this to cash in on "2012". But, wow!! I first saw it on TV back in '69 (I was 6!!), and have seen it all thru the '70s--then they stopped airing it. "Crack In The World"--DVD....finally.

  • @gennx30

I went on Amazon to verify it, and its on TUESDAY, JULY 27. I forgot the company's name (it's NOT Paramount itself--shame), but a couple of pre-reviewers say that the quality is decent. Man, I'm gonna hound my local FYE for this DVD. (Hell, "Navy VS. The Night Monsters" too, while I'm at it.). WOW. 4 weeks away. C'mon, July 27th!

  • I love trailers that pretty much give away the entire plot of a movie!

  • @kendo4242 Ha! I was just thinking the same thing.

  • Amazing! I didn't realise how long Americans have been obsessed with cataclysmic destruction, and end of the world scenarios. Truly a psychotic collective obsession the Americans have with disaster. The list of films they've made with disasters and end of the world scenarios is endless!.

  • @alpidistra, and how a great many voted obama into piwer precisely becase they think him the anti-christ, and would thus bring to pass the end of the world... and their oh so convenient invention "rapture".. wherein they would be saved before the end of the world with plagues and disasters,

  • Life imitating art?... or art imitating life?... ?

  • @faceintree given the age of the movie, I'd say life imitating art. :-)

  • Where can I find the whole movie? HELP!!!!!!

  • It's not only a motion picture anymore!

  • @DoctorOblivion1 What do you mean by that?

  • "Suppose the Macedo trench splits open under the ocean? A crack a thousand miles long, bringing superheated magma in contact with the ocean... Earthquakes, tidal waves, mass destruction on an apocalyptic scale! "

  • Haha I lolled at the actual crack on the map they had drawn. "The oceans will fall into the crack and the steam will tear the Earth apart". Lmao, people in the 60's were really retarded.

  • @Kinkoyaburi And you think we are better now?

  • @CoolKidAndNarutoFan No, I think we're even worse.

  • been trying to get a copy of this forever...guess it's way out of print...

  • I wonder if Roland Emmerich could make a remake of this.

  • @vgmaster9 shhhhh...don't say that he may hear you

  • @Kinkoyaburi

    What's wrong with that?

  • @vgmaster9 His movies usually suck extremely much. If he remakes this which obviously sucks it will be even worse.

  • @Kinkoyaburi

Well that's your opinion. I happened to enjoy them, especially 2012.
