  • thank you for all your videos you are so helpful. Im 6weeks out and Im already having my days where im feeling discouraged and feeling like I can eat more than I should.... so sometimes I DO!! :O( I know Im still new to this change, but I know I can do better and thanks to videos like yours your helping me!!

  • do you need to eat more than 3 times a day?

  • I am getting banded 4/11/11 and I have really found your videos super helpful. Really trying to brainwash myself pre op into the new way of eating .

  • Hello Tamika from Australia :) I love your videos, you've been an inspiration to me. This one in particulary helped me! bye for now, Sarah

  • I luv this video, I needed this! Show me how it really is, don't leave nothing out. I'm still going through the motions of insurance, monitoring WAITING.....so thanks for this video. I get worried about the mental part and don't want to be a miserable person because I'm used to eating a larger portion. This video is an eyeopener for me! THanks, you look great! Keep up the good work!

  • Also, although it would be difficult to eat such small portions( without lap band or gastric bypass) Would I get the same result as someone who had? Just by mimicking the portions of food that someone who has had surgery eats??? Thank ya for ur time! ;) btw u look great!

  • Hello! Just wondering how many calories are u eating with a stomach so small? I am currently trying to lose weight and I seen something on tv talking about if u eat under 1000 cals a day u will end up gaining weight instead of losing.I just thought that sounded odd because people that have had lap band or Gastric bypass eat so little and lose huge amounts of weight.

  • Really good video. Love the visual egg vs football. I will remember that always. Angie

  • I can eat a softball. Hopefully, that will change soon.

  • Another good and thought provoking video. Thank you for this message. Say hello to Minnie Mouse.

  • @neya315 Thanks LOL @ Minnie Mouse ... it drives me crazy when I think about the weird voice thingy it did at some point. But since I'm working on my 'perfectionist' ways I left it alone LOL!!!

  • Great video Tameka even with the chipmonk voice. Love the egg vs football

  • @redqtpie77 Thanks, Girl wasn't that sound crazy at some point?!? I don't know what happened LOL

  • thanks for the information you share with us. i love watching your videos because they always makes me think about what i'm doing. i have mental issues with eating when i'm not hungry. i've finally with bandedwendy's support and advise am going to start seeing a therapist. i wish i would of done more of this before. i look forward to seeing someone that can help me with my issues. thanks again for your videos. :)

  • @hellokitty7696 You are so very welcome. Many blessings to you along your road to freedom. I know how emotional eating can be. Big Hug and if you need an ear, I'm here!

  • Thanks for posting this video. The visual of the football and the egg was very helpful. I think you are correct because about the mind thing. I must just remember the purpose of the band and to eat as my doctor has advised me. I also need more solid protein and eat less salads.

  • @031010Lapband Let me know how trying more solid proteins work out. You know lettuce is full of water. Protein, Protein, Protein - egg, egg, egg :))

  • Fantastic video.

  • @susan1289 Thanks Susan :)

  • Hahaha I call the band my "little post it note"!!! But now I think I'll write up "Remember the Egg!" :D Rach.

  • @TheUrbanWasteland There you go :))

  • I REALLY NEEDED TO SEE THIS!!! GREAT VIDEO!

  • @LAPPAGURL09 Glad you enjoyed :)

  • This is a great video!!!! So very helpful, I am going to make it a favorite so I have it after my surgery! Thanks again, you are so great!

  • @bandednanny Glad it was helpful :)

  • Very helpful!

  • I love this video! Being a pre-op person, I have to realize the drastic change in eating habits are necessary. I would hate to have the surgery and stretch my new tummy out...thank you so much for sharing with us...it is a crucial part of our journeys!!

  • @2V23 You are very right ... and like I said make sure your mind is in the game before you lay down on the table :)) Don't rush it, keep learning as much as you can and listening to our stories, good & bad. Best Wishes to you!

  • My friend your so smart thank you thank you for this video great visual love ya girl...love rosemary

  • @gastricRose Thank you Rosemary, love you back!

  • Great video! I'm going to keep this visual in mind when eating. It's amazing that we can live on such a small amount of food.

  • @Melissalosesitall It is amazing but when we think about filling the egg doesn't it make more sense. It's so crazy LOL!

  • Wow this is such a crazy concept for me. Do you measure your meats by the cup as well, or do you weigh them?

    Such a great video!!! Favorited!

  • @Sunnedae It is crazy. I do a little of both when I'm home, when I'm out I use the visual tricks like the palm of your hand + height of deck of cards (meat), checkbook (fish) = 3 oz. And I really just listen to my body. If I eat slowly and pay attention I know when I've had enough. How do you approach it?

  • Good Informative Video as always you rock! Will keep in mind trying to fill the egg and not the football... Nice

  • @Sexyyyy1990 You rock too :)) I promise it helps me!

  • Great visual, period! A total wake-up call to how we're supposed to eat post-op...thanks for making it plain :)

  • @GhrelinBgone Thank you Girly LOL!

  • Thank you for this vid!! I am a new bandster...and I am dealing with the sensation of being full, too scared/worried about the band to eat more, yet wanting to eat more. It will definitely take some practice to get my mind to catch up to my banded stomach. Thanks again :0)

  • @19Shelley79 Congrats on being banded and yes it takes a little time. Unfortunately it also takes a few times of being sick too once you get to the proper fill restriction. I don't think anyone likes that feeling. Eat in a quiet place and really listen and feel for the full feeling :) I know it sounds a little strange but you'll figure it out. I get hard hiccups when it's time to stop or I'm just about to eat too much.

  • Great comparison!! =D

  • So are you truly satisfied eating a half a cup, and what is your level of satifaction in eating only a half a cup? This is really something to wrap my mind around. This is a lot of good info in realization of how important the rules are.

  • @bandedbeautiful7 Satisfied - 8 times out of 10. So the majority of the time I am satisfied. I think the times where I'm not satified, it's because I'm thinking man this is good and I want more. I do however believe my body has had enough after eating between 1/2 - 1 cup of food. It is something to wrap our minds around, it's a complete mental shift.

  • Your video really help me understand the lapband process..Thank you so much...Im still waiting to get approved

  • @mstyana You're very welcome. I bought a new protein powder tonight, I'm going to try it in the morning and tell you what I think.

  • @ANuMe1109 Please let me know....

  • @mstyana I picked up MET-RX Protein Plus (Vanilla) I have soooo much gas and my tummy is just pop-lockin. A part of me wants to try it again to make sure it wasn't anything else I ate but I had it on an empty stomach. ?? I will try one more time and let you know. Good/Bad part I had it for breakfast, used 2 cups of fat-free milk and 2 scoops of powder, total calories 380 but the protein was 64g sugar from protein powder 4g. I drank it at 9am and didn't eat lunch until 3pm, it kept me full!

  • @ANuMe1109 WOW. Well keep me posted. Then Ill see if I wanna try it...

  • Thank you so much for this info, i think i will watch this one over again because it is so helpful, again thank you

  • Great info i am taking everything u say to heart even now before my surg. have a great bless week my sweet friend love connie :0)

  • @QuiltingConnieB Big hug to you Connie, glad I can help. Love you.

  • @donahka Hey Girly, Yes I saw Paul at the beginning of the month. I got .5 of the 1cc I had removed back in. Total difference and I'm so thankful :) So I'm at 6.5cc's. Girl please don't mention willpower, we were total friends for most of the summer!

  • do you think this way of thinking would work without lap band ? football vs egg btw :congrats on the weight loss

  • @Dismamisupadupaphly Thanks a good question. For me my lapband is a tool, it provides that stopping point. I suppose people could definitely adapt some of the concepts associated with how we eat after WLS and be successful, i.e. eating only 3 meals a day, no snacking or grazing, eating good quality foods, concentrating on eating proteins 1st, no drinking and eating at the same time, stopping eating when you're full etc.

  • @Dismamisupadupaphly P.S. For me weight loss surgery helps keep me on track, I do need to do a lot of work to pay attention to what I'm eating, how I'm moving my body etc BUT in the end of the day there is only so much I can eat before I will be physically sick - that's what keeps me closer to the 'egg' on days where I'm not at my best. Some people do a fantastic job of dropping pounds on their own, I needed a tool to help me get there and ultimately stay there. Glad I did it. Hope this helps:)
