@myeyesarelines erm, u mean, sda and spp? gerald is from wp. i wonder why kj wasn't invited too. he is an eloquent speaker who unfortunately wasn't recognised in this forum.
Use modern technology to allow more flexibility for working mums, instead of having to work 5 days a week or even 5.5 days a week, and having to employ maids to look after their children, allow them the option to work offline/work from home a stipulated number of days in the week via modern technology without shortchanging companies.
@xPochaPocha By incorporating modern technology to allow working mums to work from home a stipulated number of days in a week (note that I'm not calling for working from home for all 5/5.5 days in a week), I believe that will also encourage more Singaporeans to make babies and to make more babies even.
I'm impressed with Vincent though ... He is prepared and has a good thinking process regarding the whole debate and that just shows that he really cares about the well-being of the people, which is what as an individual wants to see in the MP he/she vote for.
SDA has a plan....I feel I see and I know the problems...but I can't really say what the plans are...I can't even tell you exactly what fundamental causes of the problems...But we will address it in Parliment ...Thats a relive... I'm sure SDA can solve it only in Parliment.
Singapore first? Quota system? I didn't even know it exist coz in my office (we are UK based consultancy firm), we have a team of 7. I'm S'porean, there's 1 PR (Indian) and the rest of the 5 are on EP. I seriously don't think mine is the sector that Singaporeans doesn't want to work in. Does Ms Teo actually do her fact finding before she speaks? It's kindda worrying to see more and more political leaders talk like they know what is actually happening but infact has no clue at all.
i feel tt what nazim said was quite relevant just tt he kept stuttering.. but as for lina, i dun even understand what she was talking abt! "we hope the govt will bring in SOME rules, or regulations".. omg what melissa asked was what would ur party do if ur party is the govt.. lol..
@nicholasliha, i agree with you to a certain extend, however, the thing is not about them making an impression about the issues, but rather, they are not making any POINT. IMO, there is a difference between impression and point. the thing is, on their part (Lina and Nazem) are not exactly addressing the issues raised, though Nazem did a better job than Lina
Honestly! Josephine through part 1 to 3 has only been stating and throwing stats and raising questions rather than speaking professionally as a party member, what we, citizen want to know is what the parties CAN and WILL do.
im sorry, the fact that everyone is only talking about the speakers' eloquence shows that none of them were able to make an impression about the issues. this debate didn't deliver any breakthrough perspective on what the parties are about. i think the program's overhandling of time allocation was to blame. the whole point about a debate is to let people speak!
@mastera7x nope, i am just an average lower-middle income guy. We should look at how the nation is doing as a whole rather than zooming into the specifics. We need a government who looks at the progress of the nation as a whole. But i do agree with @sid009 that the lack in quality in the opposition is due to their lack of exposure.
Sadly, the oppositions are still not quite ready yet. The points made are very amateur, clearly without deep thought. The oppositions are trying very hard to disagree, and i've got a feeling that a win over PAP matters much more than serving the people.
@nevin87 no offense intended. i agree on ur point on our ruling party. the opps dun seem to be as ready i think is bcos they are not given a chance to be in the parliament thus they r inexperience. PAP closes all doors to opps. seems like rite now they openin the doors for opps, but i think its jus an act to keep emselves in power. purpose of election is for ppl to choose their leaders who will serve the ppl in the way the ppl wans, not to tell the ppl wat to do. if tts the case then y vote?
Ok ... Mr Vincent from his speech is really speaking from experience from visits etc etc I'm no pro PAP but i think PAP is doing a good job nonetheless, yes there are the poor who are unfortunate. But have the opposition check on the poor background... I am just a student and have work with many people... QUALITY PEOPLE is an issue... we lack of it. Many of whom I work with are ignorant and have not a speck of motivation in doing their projects good luck to those companies who employ them....

josephine...did any of these parties mentioned they want a zero foreigners policy? they just want moderation of inflow not stop them completely.
