I am wondering if you could give some advice how to upgrade my machine like you did. I have a bcs 830 with a 8hp electric start and a 26" tiller box. I want to upgrade to a v twin and some tires like yours. Any advice you can give me???

I was wondering if you could give me some help. I have a bcs 830 and I run a tilling business. I am wondering if you could give me some advice on how to upgrade my tiller like you did to yours. Did you switch the engine or did you have someone do it for you? How did you fabricate the wheel offset?
Hey you two were ya been? I been wanting to see some more video's of that tiller,Lol. Tell Pa he needs to till more gardens to help pay for more updated videos of his second wife in action. ;0)
Tires are blackwater atv 2200 X 1200 X 10 and had to build a bolt adapter switching the metric to inches - wheels are 10 w x 10 d with 6 in offset to the outside with 4 X 4 bolt pattern - engine had been acme 10 hp - now has briggs 18 hp
@ironmanforge I have some questions for you. I have a bcs 830 with a 26" tiller box and I am thinking of upgrading my engine and my tires. Can you give me some advice of how you upgraded yours? Did you do the upgrades yourself or did you have someone do it for you?
Originally it had a 10 hp and a 26 in tiller it did a real good job but with the 18 hp and a 30 in tiller unit - there's no stopping it. Works great - and this thing is 24 yrs old now. the original motor is on a BCS 715 - kinda like a Troy pony -
There's a sickle bar that sits where the tiller unit is - you drive it backwards then - it allows you to cut tall weeds - doesn't work well on small trees but tall grass and heavy weeds work fine.
BCS transmissions are precision-made housings, enclosing heat-treated steel gears and shafts. These shafts are supported by embedded ball bearings and running in oil bath. Whether its the model 710 or 948, the entire BCS line is designed for commercial applications and decades of reliable service. Divide the price of a BCS tractor and attachments by its projected life, and youll have the lowest cost per year in the industry, in addition to the best performance.
Very loamy soil, thats why the one pass, plus a monster of a tiller. I own the 722 Harvester , and have owned the Troy built Horse model . Troy built is a good tiller but does not compare to the BCS hands down. Only thing the Troy built tillers have on BCS is price. nothing more.
We have great dirt - very little stones, rocks, just really nice and deep - the BCS also has mulitiple attachments that Troy just doesn't use - BCS has driveshaft. Not sure about Troy's.
Well, you gotta know that if it a brand new garden, he tills it three ways - once one way, then across and back the first way before he calls that a done deal - in our garden - he may till it 3-4 times in a winter to kill grass - I lean toward no till gardening - a lot of seeds get pulled to surface every till
Hubby loves his tractor - his started with 10HP I believe - put the larger engine on this - our parts supplier told him he was nuts but he's a tim the tool man kinda guy. the 10 hp went on a smaller BCS that had a blown engine - that he picked up for $25 from a coworker. I called the BCS his mistress for a long time - he just couldn't get it into bed - lol.
They are 20 inch in diameter, 12 inches wide on 10 inch rims. The rims are 10 inch diameter and 9 inches wide with a 3 inch inside offset and 6 inches outside offset. I can add 90 lbs of weights to the tires on each side and I intend to fill the tires with fluid for more weight. total weight is 675 lbs for the unit and weights.

jeez that thing just moves through the dirt so effortlessly that thing is insane and I'm impressed on how even it leaves the dirt after going over it
