  • We celebrate La Guillanee at the Bolduc House Museum on New Year's Eve by playing parlor games while waiting for the men to come and dance. The first 40 people to make reservations will be admitted for a suggested minimum donation. Email from our website for details.

  • In some parts of the west of France the New Year was called la Guillaneu, or l'Aguillaneuf. My old Maman remembered hard-up people, kids especially, going from door to door singing Guillaneu songs, asking for food or money (Angoumois region, Charente département.)
