I was away in college and not at home. He was a German Shepard and my best friend growing up. I know you probably felt guilty that you weren't there those last years. I lost my dalmation just over a year ago. In an odd way, i think he knew it was his time to go. We had to get him put down because he developed cancer on his tail, which spread down to his back legs and his quality of life was just awful.
