What I mean is that he put the generally terribly received games and said failures implying SEGA also failed which is not true for SA2.In fact Eggman had little to no role in Sonic and the secret rings they are just trying to take the piss out of Sonic fans.He was also the second wheel villain in the other 3 games Sonic 06,Unleashed and Shadow

@insanylum13 SA2 was a critical NIGHTMARE. While the gameplay and story were good, Knuckle's Chaos Emerald levels were retarded and camera placement was awful. Overall, it was a really a mediocre game, but with a good soundtrack and a few memorable levels. I loved it as a kid, now, eh, not so much.

@TheAirsoftCorner To even compare it with the glitchy and terribly written 06 and wagglefest shovelware secret rings is just sinful.06 is the abomination that has plagued the series and it shouldn't be mentioned near decent games.I am willing to take off my nostalgia glasses to see SA2's faults but it was nowhere near a failure when it first hit on the dreamcast and the only people who loathe every aspect of it are ignorant or retrofags.There were more good things than bad in SA2.Not in 06.

@insanylum13 There were more good things than bad, but the camera aspects, 4/6 characters having boring levels you wish you could skip and not a single issue being fixed in SA2B makes me feel like it earned it's spot. It's not the worst, but it started the whole 3D Sonic failure thing. SA1 wasn't as bad for the sole reason that I didn't feel like I needed to skip almost 60% of the game.

@TheAirsoftCorner Still the Metacritic score of 89 and the universal praise say otherwise.The knuckles stages weren't torture as 06 was.Many people love the game for it's soundtrack,story,speed gameplay and chao garden.They would bare through the treasure hunting and shooting levels because you only have to play them once but the speed stages have infinite replayability.If anything Shadow the Hedgehog was the game to start the downfall of Sonic.Only retrofags would classify it with 06.

@insanylum13 I'm not classifying it with '06, I'm saying it deserved it's spot as a "failure" because with 2 iterations across 2 consoles, issues weren't fixed, mainly that friggin' camera.. I preferred SA1 because it didn't have that frustration factor of having to play a "treasure hunt" mode. If I'm a "retrofag" because I do, indeed, prefer most 2D Sonic games, then so be it. 3D was never kind to Sonic, and I don't think it ever will be.
