  • I won't advertise for any foreigners to go living in VN as the best place to live since I believe East or West, Home is Best!!! And for me, surely VN is the only home. We're poor generally but we have things that rich countries dream of but can't buy LOL Go live here or just travel around the country in a humble way not in luxurious boats or resorts to feel the breath of real VN, humble but so loving :X not sophisticated but delicate and REAL PEACEFUL ^^

  • Home always is home ! I love my Vietnam :)

  • This song is really beautiful. I'm from vietnam and it's really touching that it's a song for our country. ^_^ And the war has left many trace and it's really sad. But Vietnam will forever be in my heart. It's my country and my roots it's from it. Forever Vietnam!!

  • I miss vnam so much even though i been in american ever since i went to school i want to visit it again I ♥ vnam

  • So very sorry to hear about the small ferry overloaded with holiday shoppers which sank in central Vietnam today, killing at least 40 people ahead of the traditional Viet Nam Lunar New Year.

  • I love Vietnam and want to visit this country again. nice video fantastic music.

  • So sweet ! I love Vietnam......

  • perfect voice and song and clip.

nothing else to say exept that she doesn t say "someday, to say hello to your soul" but "someday to say hello to my soul".

  • I love her voice. very angelic. and great clip (thanks for the translation). very touching song! Bonjour Vietnam!

  • There are 2 good massages in district 5. The names i cant really remember, i dont pay attention to the names lol. But if i can remember , " Long Thanh , or Thanh Long " They both are good massages, one is with a soccer field that they broadcast games on TV. That one bathes you. And the other is in district 5, both are fun and good. District 8, has a good one that bathes you too. a bit far, but awesome service.

Lucky your brother in law lost money instead of his family. expensive tho.

  • dont cry babe

    need a tissue?

  • I want to go back to Vietnam right away

  • Elle est franchement énorme cette chanson!!!

    Proud to be Viet!

  • 10 more hours and i have to go home back to Australia :(

It has been so fun here, been to several provinces, but i like Saigon the most. I will miss riding the scooters here, miss the people, the life, my family, and especially the girls from massage parlours.

one day, i hope to come back and live here when i get old.

  • haha girls frm massage parlours

how they treatin u bro? lol

  • they were sweet :)

nice and wild, had a great time with them on 1 hour sessions. I would like to take them home with me, but me wife wouldnt be too happy hehehhehe.

  • hahahaha very nice

only 1 hour..y not 2 or 3 hours jk lol

which massage parlours did u went 2 brah? were it's in Saigon

  • The places i go to are usually hotels. They hold the massage parlours there. Its safe and clean. They usually have massive banners that says " Massage ". There are some innocent ones, but i prefer the wild ones... i guess you gotta just try around.

At some places i travel to district 5, and other districts as well around Saigon, they're the good ones that gives good service :).... Hotel massage parlours are the safest. Other backyard ones is a bit risky. The cops might bust me, so i avoid those

  • Brothels are illegal due to the new government. Therefore backyard massage parlours is a risky place to go to. The cops might suspect its a brothel. But as you know, some places just bribe the cops monthly, but because i have me wife, its something i have to avoid hehehhehehe. Otherwise, no problem :)

  • oh ic

    well thanz alot brah

ill go back to Vietnam in a couple years n get me a massage lol

  • no problem, you will enjoy them very much. Make sure you have a relative or friend that takes you to those... There are some that bathe you then massage, bathe you naked, bathe you with boxer shorts, and gives good service. You might get addicted to it, but its good if you do, coz its an awesome way to relax.

The price is about $150,000 - $200,000 dong for tip of a good massage, that means a headjob. But for normal massage its $100,000.

prices of entry depends on the place, approx $70,000 dong

  • Anyways Goodluck and remember to play safe hehehehhe, so you can play much more.

  • i will play safe bro cuz u dont know what disease they have in them

hahahaha i heard alot about those infamous bathin you naked n headjob..well the prices are not bad actually it's pretty cheap

like after massage does they let u invite them 2 ur hotel n stuff u know what i mean right?lol n my otha question iz y u should let ur friend or relative take u to those places?

  • To get the girl to meet you after their shift is finished is really up to you and up to her. If there is a spark between the two of you, and if your hormones tickles her, she will surely open up and go with you. The attraction has to be there, and im sure it wont be difficult for you. I had a few who asked for me number, unfortunately i had to say "nope"

Your relatives or your friends might know the good places to go. My brother in law took me to those awesome massages. He goes all the time

  • Looks, charm and money will win the massage girls lust.

I had a friend who went to Vietnam, and lost control of his heart. He fell for a girl who was a "player". He didnt realise until he came back to Australia, and sent her $5000.00 AUS, then another $10,000.00 AUS after a few months. Then he went back to Vietnam and met with her. Until later he realised he didnt like her. He blamed it on "black magic" that she casted on him. I believe he just fell weak to the sweet talking chicks. lol !

  • so all the good massages palour iz in the district 5?

it happen to my brother in law 2 he almost divorce his wife ova that Vietnamese girl after a while he said she casted a spell on him n make him spent atleast 100 thousand US dollars on that girl or more idk exactly how much money he spend on her bt it quite alot of moneyz

  • I love VIETNAM , forever

  • It's a very deep song..touching until my heart..very romantic melody..very meaningful lyrics...very wonderful picture.. Great creation..I love this song..

  • beautiful song. it makes me almost cry. i miss my family. i hope i can return to Vietnam, i wanna see a new changes, and something that i miss when i leave there.

  • Its been exactly one month since I have arrived here in Vietnam... The place where I was born, the life that i only get to see by traveling oceans apart... I am hoping to purchase a house here, just waiting for the price to be accepted, and a bit of luck. I love this country just as much as the place i call home, Australia.

  • 2.5 more hours until i gotta head off to the airport and fly to Vietnam for a 2 month holiday. I cant wait ! plus thankyou for this video and with the English subtitle... very meaningful lyrics

  • je suis d'accord avec win096

  • Wow! what a wonderful combination of lyrics, music and video. Well done, Quynh Anh. I really like both the French and Vietnamese version. so evocative and moving....

Anyone know how or where I may find guitar- or piano sheet music to this great song? I tried to order on her website but it was all in French. I'm here in the U.S. Thanks for any help.

  • there is a vietnamese version? where can i find it? i've been looking for it all over. if you know, please advise. thanks :)

  • What a touching song. It bring chills to me to hear such fimilar melody of Vietnam.

  • pays de merde

  • @enculesdadmins2 << ta mère est une pute francaise...

  • Beautiful voice and beautiful song.

The sadness that comes after a war is captured here.

  • Yeah, the subtitles are a bit off in places. The first time it does translate to "your soul" but the second/onward times, it is "My soul". There were a few more things too, but it's still a pretty good translation.

  • love this video! the music and images makes for a perfect marriage.

  • :) great job.!

  • what should i say...this is really great

to sgnhometown : our homeland will be transformed quicker..no doubt! but anyway you should come back

  • I love this video!! Although i dont know most of what shes saying you can tell shes obviously upset about something i give it a A++

  • This song is... so beautiful! The voice is so emotionally sensitive. One can be easily burst to tears in no time. I'm studying US for 7 years now. Hope one day our country can be transformed quicker, so I can go home, work, and enjoy my life!!

My appreciation for making such as nice piece of art :)

  • I love this song! it gives me hope :)

    well done Marc L. !!

  • Vietnam, Mon Pays by VietnamChris is a much more moving and authenthic number. It's also on You Tube. Go there and enjoy!

  • Beautiful!! I Want to meet her

  • Been listening to this song daily since I've heard of it. Makes me want to cry every time I listen to it.

  • btw, you sing beautifully, Kudos! I can imagine huge success in you. keep up work

  • This is a beautiful meaningful song. A lot of us Viets can empathize. I too would have to visit my root soon.

  • Wherever I go, Wherever I live, I say proundly: I am VietNamese^-^! Thank you very much for such a lovely song, Quynh Anh!

  • merci " bu-cu " em Quynh Anh , hay wa xa troi !

  • What exactly does your last comm' mean? Sorry, I understand not very well, but that is not because of your french!!! In fact, I find it cool, that you can understand what I'm saying. Go on like that...good luck!!!

  • A repréciser: "mes valeurs" certaines, oui.

  • Sinh ben Phap, ko phai la mot ly do dde co the quen ddi tieng viet. Vi biet noi tieng minh, truoc het la mot cach dde tra hieu cho Cha Me. Khi thay con minh lon len o nuoc ngoai, ma con biet noi tieng cua que huong minh, Cha Me nao ko mong muon nhu vay chu?

  • Lam nguoi phai nho coi nho nguon. Neu noi ve nuoc minh, noi tieng vi cung ko bang noi tieng Viet, phai ko cac ban?

  • i love this song..when i listen that, i want cry..sniff

  • i feling this place incredible place and song

  • It's wonderful! For a farm boy who left home 30+ years ago, this brought tears! Thank you!

  • Bravo! You did very well!

  • Mon pauvre pays, ravagé par ces communistes.

  • yeah vietnam!..i love vietnam!..my home, i would die for it...no kidding!...this is a great video!...

  • so exciting...I can't say anything more...

  • Quel refrain!

  • what a beutiful song

  • clap clap clap

  • i just have a question though. where did you get the background video for this music vid?

  • nice video

  • Emouvante chanson, merci l'âme du poète-compositeur!

  • i luv this vid. thanks for sharing. it made me homesick so much :(

  • I was only 4 when I left VN, returned in 2001 at age 26. Was in VN just 5 weeks to farewell granny, age 104:((

Now I am 32. Next trip will be sometime 2010-11 when the mega new Long Thanh International Airport opens. Heard they will be spending $33billion to building a high-speed railway link between Hanoi and Saigon, don't when that will be complete though.

  • This was so awesome to see! I love this song and the way the images are captured! Its a short beautiful story of Vietnam, my country and my love!!!! Thank you, Thank you for capturing the beauty of our country!

  • I love this song so much. I've listened to it so many times but never got bore of it. I adore this song. I am glad I learned French when I did. Hay qua. Cam on ban nhieu nha.

  • Wonderful choice of images and clips. And thanks for the caption.

  • hey does anyone know where I can get this song? Your help would be greatly appreciated thank you

  • I'm vietnamese and my wife is Australian, we're planning to go the end of this year so the kids can see their grandfather. But I'm really worried for them being in the city as I heard(it may not be true) there are kidnappers that pray on westerners. is this true is there anythng esle I should watch for?

  • 1st time i heard that

  • 1st time i heard about kidnapping thing. What you should really watch for is rip off, so stick w/ your family members in VN they know how things work there, since you probably know much about VN currency, easy to get over charge. And dont bring back any copy dvds, the airport security will want bribe if you do, happen to my parents.

  • thank you for your reply :) I've got alot of family over there how ever my wife and kids aren't used to the hot weather and n food etc etc

  • You shouldnt worry about the food. Unless you live in the north ex: Hanoi. The food is really bad in the north, my cousin when to the north to visit his relative after eating there he lost all is appetite, end up losing quite an amount of pounds, not that is bad since he's overweight. So if you want good food go to saigon or any other place in the south. Oh and to be honest, food from street venders taste best, dont get suck in to fansy restaurant

  • I dont think that's a true rumor. I think its just a way to scare westerners. My friends and her group went with a group of people from MAP(an adoption agency) to Vietnam. they like westerner and I think its pretty falsy stated that they pray on westerners. I think they just uncomfortable with westerners. I am vietnamese so I know that much and I am still not use to US either. I'd feel the same way seeing someone new and dofferent. Goodluck and have fun. It would be a wonderful trip.

  • relax come on ivebeen on the street alot and notthing happen to me hehhehe maybe i look poor lolz

  • The translation is pretty much correct.

I hope you and your family come visit Vietnam soon and have good time here.

Just forget about the war images and you will have great time here in Vietnam.

  • The words of the song touched me deeply. Poetry is what gets lost in translation according to Robert Frost. Do you know who wrote the words? Having a Vietnamese wife of 30 years and 2 children of mixed Vietnamese race, I would love to take them to see Vietnam someday so they can see the land of their grandparents. Thank you for the video.

  • There is not much lost in translation here. The French is pretty straight forward. I hope you get to go. You and your wife and kids. Best, Robert

  • This song is written by Marc Lavoine from Belgium.

  • Could you provide this French lyrics ? Thank you montigny.

  • give me your email address and I will provideyou the site. I cannot put in here because of the URL??

  • montigny, thanh you very much for taking time to type these long lyrics. Here is my address for the site : ........ Thanks again.

montigny, I could not send my reply to you. It said: because of the e-mail address or the URL. Now we'll do it this way: my site is with yahoo, and the name is: tiffanyduong28.

  • are you asking me??? ^__^ hehe

i just want to see more of those well-captured videos of Vietnam. plz.

just in case, here is my email: bad_baby92 at yahoo dot com

  • Raconte moi ta maison, ta rue, raconte moi cet inconnu,
