  • Shula says Morral did'nt see Jimmy Or because hte band came out in the endzone waiting to come out for halftime { the Orr's blue jersey blended with the bands blue jackets }. Oh please !! Look at 3:48...is there anything resembling a band behind Orr ??

  • what really impresses me about superbowl 3 is joe namath called every single play in that game and in the 2nd half they didnt throw the ball once.

  • @panthers7775 Correction: The Jets didn't throw the ball once in the 4 th. quarter.

  • @tranquility4all yea ur right 4th quarter ! my bad

  • @panthers7775 No problem. I attended the 1968 AFL Championship game & I'm glad the Jets defeated the Raiders & Colts.

  • @tranquility4all wow that must of been a great experience

  • @panthers7775 It was a great experience. However it's time for the Jets to do it again.

  • @tranquility4all yea maybe this year with there new OC tony sparano they'll get back to there ground and pound , sanchez isn't the type of QB to throw 40 times a game like they where doing.

  • @panthers7775 It will take more than a Ground & Pound offense for the Jets to get to the Super Bowl. Sanchez has to become a more reliable passer & the Jets desperately need Defensive Lineman who can rush the passer. Any team with a good quarterback & offensive coordinator will eventually take advantage of Ryan's all out blitz schemes. My pt. is the Jets need to become a more versatile & less predictable team on offense & defense.

  • @tranquility4all yea i know that but when they went to there back to back AFC championships they had a good ground and pound with greene and jones and sanchez plays well when they have a running game going , yea they need some lineman this past year they had no one really , they need a real playmaker at WR holmes gives up on plays.

  • @panthers7775 The Jets have become a very predictable team. Unless You have superior personnel (They don't), then just about any team will give them trouble. They need to have someone who will compete with Sanchez for starting QB.

  • @tranquility4all yea they sure don't and yea thats true i wanted to see brunell to come in a couple of games see what he could give the team when sanchez wasent getting it done.

  • @panthers7775 The Packers have a back up QB Matt Flynn who showed promise & is a Free Agent. If the Jets can acquire him He would compete with Sanchez for starting QB.

  • @tranquility4all that would b something if they picked up flynn but i really dont see them even doing that rex ryans stuck on sanchez

  • @panthers7775 Unfortunately many coaches will stick to their decisions and not even entertain the notion that they may be wrong. Successful teams want to have healthy competition for players who want to earn or keep their job.

  • @tranquility4all very true it's cool talking to someone who actually knows the game of football. but i really don't see the jets being to great next year just after last season and hearing about all the locker room stuff that's just not healthy for the team at all and that will keep going on until someone steps up and says something and becomes a leader and it seems like they have no leaders at all.

  • ill never forget this game ,thanks joe

  • Howard Cosell used to go on and on about how superior the AFC was to the NFC after the Steelers and Colts won Super Bowls. What he did not mention was the fact that those were former NFL teams that dominated the AFC.

  • Don Shula took ball control offense and old fashioned defense from roots of the old NFL to the what-turned-out-to-be AFC and won championships. The AFL had been playing "wide-open" football. All he did was take the NFL style to the AFC.

  • Colts had a great defense but had not faced a quarterback with Namath's quick release.

  • Baltimore was awesome that year...

  • Joe Namath ..coolest QB EVER!!

  • Take it to 3:48 !! Behind Jimmy Orr, does that look like any marching band you know of ??

  • No way Unitas could have brought the Colts back, his elbow wasn't completely healed...

  • now i see why big mouth rex ryan always saying theyre winning the superbowl....well rex it wont happend ever ahahahahahahahahahaha go patriots.

  • @TheLenin143 Go crawl into a cave and never come out both of our teams are loosing out to the Bills this year and thats just sad

  • There is video evidence of the outright nasty meanness of Joe Namath. I think it's long overdue.

  • With all due respect to one of the greatest QBs in history, it wouldn't have mattered had Johnny U started the second half. His passes had no zip on them and he would have been intercepted at least four times. The Jets were the better team. Hell, Kansas City and Oakland were better than Baltimore. Maybe even San Diego.

  • Hey Joe- Where the hell is the Miami Touchdown Club old timer??

  • We were huge JET fans & my sister had a HUGE crush on JN. We used to go see them practice @ Hofstra University so I was glad they won and pray to God they do it again. They deserve it.

  • Was a huge Namath/Jets' fan & a 9th grade kid when Jets won this game. Must admit when Johnny U. entered in 3rd quarter, it scared the hell out of me. That said, not so sure Unitas could have won the game if he had started the 2nd half as he states in this video-he had a bad elbow and couldn't throw long. Also remember a Colts' D-back saying he was stunned by the velocity on Namath's throws and had "never seen a tighter spiral thrown by anyone in the NFL". Thanks very much for posting.

  • Great video. THis is why we have the NFL today. Thanks JETS

  • Yeah, Namath & The Jets shut up all the critics (mostly New York writers) who disrespected them. After this game the AFL had arrived. A year later the merger would be completed.

  • Is it me or does Curt Gowdy look a bit like a much older Jay Leno?

Any truth to the rumor that Joe Namath picked up the Super Bowl trophy and said, "I want to kiss you!"?

  • @fu2nbc thanks for posting!...i just watched the jan 1969 superbowl 3 (on youtube!) and have ordered a reebok white joe namath 1968-69 jersey from fansedge (@# 877-965-3955) for $125.oo! / @ milwaukee

  • 5-stars! thankyou for posting!...honestly I was born in milwaukee jan 1965...so I was age 4...i watched mr. ed the talking horse sit-com...so I decided to cheer for the colts! this is the first superbowl I can remember! I was angry at joe namath and hated the n.y. jets for years!...2010 I have finally forgiven joe namath and jets...now a very nostalgic treasure to me! / @ milwaukee

  • @headlesshessian76 Thanks for the great comment!

  • @headlesshessian76 does that mean the curse is over!

can we finally win again in 2010?

    i'm 49 and i've been a fan since I was 7.

42 years is a long time to suffer!
