  • RIP Big Man....

  • Thanks for the post. I saw him do this live back in the late '70s, early '80s. Great stuff!

  • man that looks like it was a BLAST to be at that show !! but bruce always gives you your moneys worth...

  • The first time I saw was at the Meadowlands in 1984 for the last of the ten shows on the Born the the USA tour. He did this following Born to Run and with the Asburyt Jukes horn section in tow. Just absolutely blew the doors off the place.

  • Bruce has made this medley in many versions over the years, but this version is by FAR the best :)

  • Holy cow! This is some of the best rock and roll ever!

  • re waauuuuuuuuuu...

  • is that the big man, or 'Retha?........close call

  • i remember dancing and clapping to this part of the song(s) and left the show with sore hands... good times

  • @pining4apple Well said...I was hoarse for three days...he is a one off.

  • lol

  • superb!!!!

  • this is the most perfect example i've ever, ever, ever seen of the unique magic of the live boss experience. from now on when people ask me what the hell i see in springsteen, rather than trying to fight my way through an answer, i shall show them this clip. THIS is why. right here.

  • detroit medley

  • God made man, man made music, music made rock, and rock made Bruce, and Bruce made... Tramps like Us!!

  • i love the beginning of this song! :D

  • The Boss rules.

    Every single day.

  • I am awestruck - it just does not get any better than this - THE BOSS

  • Awesome! Bruce was rockin and rollin! I love the E street band this is such a fun video<3 Bruce forever <3

  • I was there!, To this day it was the Best B-Day gift I've ever received, amazing concert!

  • I hope Simon Cowell watches the Boss in action because that`s what real talent and real music is SUPPOSED to sound like,Bruce Springsteen didn`t roll off an assembly line.

  • @stylinnprofylin

    A-frickn'-men

  • i fucking love bruce but he look so gay in the eighties

  • @itabuttrose

Everybody looked like that in the 80's. And so what anyway.

  • The guy's a force of nature - pure genius!!

  • i love this video, i was lucky enough to see him twice in the same year in 2009 on the working on a dream tour .. he is amazing, and i want to thank my dad for listening to him, teaching me about this guy and the band cuz they are great

  • To me it seems like the fans in 84-85 didnt know the old springsteen songs.

  • The fans in 84-85 are his old fans, especially in 1984. He hadn't hit the big time yet (but was just about ready too).

It wasn't until late 85 or so when he became the superstar the world found out about.

  • I saw Bruce in Newcastle, UK in the summer of 1985 and about 85,000 Brits sure knew who he was and sang along like an ethereal church choir on all the old songs mentioning Jersey, etc. It was spectacular. They could have been at JFK in Philly or Giants Stadium. They knew the songs and their love for Bruce was crazy real. They didn't discover him in 1985 - he had played the Hammersmith Odeon in 1975 in London.

  • bruce forever!!

  • OUU GOD!! AMAZING!! LONG LIVE BOSS!!

  • The greatest rock and roll band and performers.... AND SONGWRITER OF ALL TIME!!! absolutely nothing corny about Bruce imagine being at this incredible show.

  • how is this corny? i love it...its like a classic jam session with every band member

  • Nilsssss!!!

  • ......indeed - that he did. May show should be good - give it his best every nite out!

  • He could have gone real bad from here on, luckily he managed to stay on the right track. Can't wait to see him for the 4th time at the end of May!

  • CAN YOU FEEL IT?

  • i love bruce man...... but this is way corny

  • yeah for 80's fashions Bruce. cant wait to see the ESB in philly this month. Best Live Perfomer Ever!

  • Saw Bruce again live last night after 25 years! Glendale, AZ 4/3/09. Last saw him at Iowa State on 11/16/1984. He played Detroit Medley. Wished he'd done it again last night!

  • Absolutely love it!

  • LEGEND.

  • I am 44 now - when I was younger I just did not get Bruce. I could not see why everyone was so excited about him. My oh my how things change.... He is (and always has been) an inspiration... what a performer!!!

    M

  • Its......iits......... ts when we do THIS.....

  • MEMO TO YOUTUBE: Unfortunately I couldn't rate this clip as the highest possible rating is "Awesome". I would like YouTube to add a 6th star rating and call it "BROOOOOOCE!!!"

  • A man working on a dream. I think he perfected it.

  • I love this clip, but for the record, this is not the infamous "Detroit Medley".

  • It is ...Just starts in the middle with the jam.

  • What is this from? What's the name of the video or DVD?

  • Never liked DeeDonner. It is shit. Go away. Bruce forever!!!!!!!!

  • No Little Steven in '84?

  • He recorded BITUSA, then left the band prior to the tour. Patti was brought in to replace his vocals, Nils to replace his guitar. Reunited in 95' for Blood Brothers.

  • "It's when we do THIS".

  • Ah yes, Bruce AND Big Man's "Headband" wearin' days!

  • This is kind silly, but does anyone else think Patti is chanelling Jem (like, the 80s cartoon) in this video? This whole video is so awesomely 80s. Thanks for the upload!

  • Well dont visit then, simple, go and listen to something else.

  • why do you listen then?

  • ........ok........
