And reading some of the notations of some of Islam's so called "theologians" what these statements mean. Europeans have been criticizing Christianity for hundreds of years and through a lot of oppression and hardship Europe became enlightened and science superceded this medieval rubbish. He has an advisor called Martin Bosma which task is to pick bad verses from the Quran and rip them from their context. Europeans have been criticizing Christianity for hundreds of years and through a lot of oppression and hardship Europe became enlightened and science superceded this medieval rubbish. Roman plumbing was used in Muslim Spain but with even more of a sophisticated addition and the rampant construction of hundreds of bath houses. Cordoba boasted with 300 bath houses at that time! Not to forget the use of fountains and the use of public street lights! Muslim Spain was the one place in all Europe, nay, the world, to bring such conveniences to a people. Let's not forget the Muslim advances in science, technology, philosophy...essentially sparking off Europe to greatness.

I'm not Muslim. But I studied the history of Muslim Spain. The Arabs and Berbers would have never accomplished any of this if it wasn't for Islam. I can't deny this. So that is why I say Muslims rather than the ethnic Arab or Berbers. It was Islam that united them and it definitely was Islam that brought them to such great lengths of success. Europe was in a period of darkness...if a European knew a few words of Arabic back then, it was assumed he was scholarly and knowledgeable! lol

Either 1) you chose to ignore my response or 2) you simply aren't willing to accept any explanation only to assume that Islam prevented them from advancing. Islam made the Muslims surpass any society during their Golden Age in Spain. It was due to Islam that the Muslims even went to Spain in the first place. The Muslims had inner conflicts which resulted in civil war. That's how they fell back. Plain and simple. Next?
