Hmm... Interseting setting, intriging tale, however seemingly plain characters. I can't really predict how this movie will end up. But I do want to know more about it.
@theDoomguy2011 Yeah that's what I thought at first, sort of like Treasure Planet meets Prince of Persia and some other post-apocalyptic film, but it does look interesting though, and I'll definitely give it a viewing when it comes out!

Anyone who hasn't read Edgar Rice Burroughs Martian series is culturally deprived. Burroughs was an ex-Cavalry soldier from Chicago who chased Geronimo alongside the Buffalo Soldiers, wrote all the original Tarzan stories, was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed, and retired very rich to Tarzana California. Frank Frazetta did some awesome artwork for Burroughs bookcovers.
It has been a long time coming, but to finally see JOHN CARTER OF MARS made into a movie is pure delight. The previews look great, so let us all hope that Disney will continue to give us both visual pleasure and something that makes our hearts beat just a little faster. On to Mars in 2012!
In all seriousness I was upset Disney went into Recycle mode at first, But now..
I am actually really happy to see fresh Ideas and visual technology being put into the classics. It is a sign that something new, can come into this world.
