you had to have bought rb2 brand new, then registered the code on the back of the booklet inside the case and then hmx sends you a code to redeem on the marketplace for 20 songs. you can't pick and choose though. its either 20 or none.

Playing with the red as the hi-hat and the yellow as the snare makes more sense when playing in that pattern... it's easier, and has a more realistic hand movement too, if that's what you're looking for.

Exactly. The Rock Band drum kit is setup to allow pad movement. Nothing is elevated so anything can be anything. Think of how awkward it would be to have to cross over your hand and hit the red pad- Practically impossible to do consistently. Now take the motion of moving from the hi-hat to snare on a normal drum kit. The hi-hat is to the left, the snare on the right. The motion is being mimicked, which is the most important thing.

I used a Pinnacle capture card. You can buy them off eBay and get the other parts necessary to hook them up to your box and tv.
