Dealextreme sells lasers called true lasers. They have a higher probability of being a specified rating but are often lower than rated with the high power ones and higher than rated with low power ones

@Kromius99 I got a true 5mW green laser from DX and ACCIDENTALLY got it full blast to my eye at point blank. i think i have permanent retinal scarring but i havent seen a doctor yet. but basically, i have a blind spot burnt into the center of my left eye and it hasnt shown any sign of healing for the past 5 days. the damage is most likely from the large amount of IR light emited that is INVISIBLE to the human eye. (yeah no IR filter on <5mW)

@TheSmallGameHunter BTW just a small warning: if that laser doesn't have an IR filter those glasses will not do ANYTHING coming out of that laser besides the green light. (keeping in mind that the IR light emitted is much stronger than the visible green light emitted) since those glasses are red they will probably just let any harmful IR rays through.

If you don't live in the US then buy the 50mw laser from DealExtreme. I got my 50wm Amazon laser and it's not putting out 50mw. It has the 50mw diode, but they tuned down the Pot. metere so its putting out less. You could but one from Amazon and pot mod it to put out 50mw if you wanted though. The diode should last just as long because its made for 50mw.

It's probably true that they have start shipping the "not true" 50mW green laser... I just got mine today and it was in a back and less exclusive box, not like in this video. On the instructions it only says "Green laser pointer" Then I also tested to burn matches but it don't even smoke :'(.
