Oh yeah, the guy who directed action comedies in the late 70's is the first pick for an action movie. The real sad part of this movie is that actor Michael Beck (Dallas) was great in Madman and The Warriors; but his career seemed to take a downhill turn with films like Xanadu and this "Megafarce" in the 80's. The Delta Force had better bikes in their movie!
Actually this movie had some very good cinematography. I think it was underrated in that aspect to this day. I don't think many people could pull of that tank scene again considering how complex that had to be and how many people were involved.
Now....if they had actually been flying a pair of AC-130's (as opposed to standard C-130's) armed with 25mm autocannons, 40mm autocannons and 105mm howitzers, they wouldn't have even needed Mega Force. Just a few fly-arounds from a SAFER distance, and those tanks would all be scrap.
BTW, is it just me, or is using your only air assets for getting out of the desert as tank bait not a particularly sound idea?
