I dont really see how the middle east would produce the anti-Christ at this time the whole world would have to be inspired by there example and right now none of those countries are inspiring anybody, the Arab spring is also taking down there governments piece by piece. However, it is also true that the "people who destroyed the city and sanctuary" were conscripts in the Roman Army and they were predominantly from Ancient Syria. The people were not Romans but Syrians.

Josephus identified the perpetrators as Syrians. The Syrians were said to have taken the temple gold that had melted back to Syria after the campaign. When they did Gold prices in Syria dropped in half. Thus I believe it was the Syrians who were the "people who destroyed the city and the sanctuary."

You're missing a big, important point here. Neithe Daniel nor Revelation use the word 'antichrist' at all. It only occurs 4 times in the Bible - all 4 times in the epistles - and NEVER of a person, always of a spirit.
I can't ignore the fact that the Roman empire is split into 2 just like the legs of Daniel's statue. If one looks at a map of Italy it is in the shape of a right leg and Sicily represents the Rock that lands at the foot of the statue and breaks it into pieces. The Roman empire does come from the east as well, as when it was split into 2 Syria is part of the eastern side.

Josephus identified the perpetrators as Syrians. The Syrians were said to have taken the temple gold that had melted back to Syria after the campaign. When they did Gold prices in Syria dropped in half. Thus I believe it was the Syrians who were the "people who destroyed the city and the sanctuary."

Islam says the ANtichrist will appear between Syria and Iraq.He will appear to be a muslim,then proclaim himself as a prophet,then king and later as god.The Antichrist is different from the Imam Mahdi,Imam Mahdi is a reformer who will bring justice and fairness,spread wealth and religious consciousness back in its true sense not in the ignorant way its been done in some quarters.Imam Mahdi will come from Saudi Arabia while Antichrist will rule from Isreal and try to kill Imam mahdi.

well well well the fourth beast as been identified by the catholics (and orthdox) schoolars (most of them) as the Roman Empire which as almost conquered the world (the then known world) 1/4 of the world population was living in the roman empire (then) and they destroyed the Jerusalem temple in 70 AD not mentionning the fact that the russians or chinese would be far more powerful (and advanced technologicaly) than any arab/muslim coalition

@TheEzekiel300 I believe the "one desired by women" is a reference to the messiah. throughout history, jewish women desired to be the mother of the messiah. the verse doesn't say antichrist doesn't desire women, it says he has no regard for the ONE desired by women. he has no regard for messiah, yeshua.

White Jesus imagery is stamped on the heads of the collective white and non white person throughout the world. It is beyond fantasy for anyone to think that a non white Anti-Christ could get anyone to follow them. You're missing a big, important point here. Neithe Daniel nor Revelation use the word 'antichrist' at all. It only occurs 4 times in the Bible - all 4 times in the epistles - and NEVER of a person, always of a spirit.
The beast is NOT the antichrist.

I can't ignore the fact that the Roman empire is split into 2 just like the legs of Daniel's statue. If one looks at a map of Italy it is in the shape of a right leg and Sicily represents the Rock that lands at the foot of the statue and breaks it into pieces. The Roman empire does come from the east as well, as when it was split into 2 Syria is part of the eastern side.

There is No Roman Empire in the Statue. There are only four kingdoms mentioned, three past; Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece and the future final and fourth Kingdom of the Antichrist. Count them the Bible States that there are only four.

The Messiah the Jews are still waiting for is going to actually be the antichrist. The Mahdi of the Muslims is going to actually be the antichrist. The Jews will have their eyes opened by God to the truth that Jesus has been their Messiah all along when the antichrist enters the Holy of Holies in their rebuilt temple and desecrates it halfway through the 7 yr. Tribulation. The antichrist will break the Peace Treaty he had made with the Israel.

You need to read the Scripture with The Holy Spirit as your interpreter. His theories don't "hold water" with the rest of the Bible, when looking at prophecy, you must use the full council of God, the entire Bible is cohesive, you have to use Scripture to explain Scripture, IT HAS TO ALL LINE UP, you cant take one verse or passage and run with it, you have to make sure it coheres to the rest of the Bible. Revelation is just the door, The Old Testament and the Prophets are the key. God Bless
