@caffeinefueledfilms It's better to purchase the lifetime service. When you eventually sell it, even if the unit is no good anymore, the service attached to the unit retains nearly all its value. That makes it more expensive to buy up front, but in the long run makes the purchase less expensive. FWIW, I purchased my TiVo in 2002 with lifetime service and haven't regretted it a bit. My old TiVo makes even the newest and best cable company DVRs I've seen appear worthless by comparison.

i also have cox communications. can you please do a follow up video and talk about the interface of the tivo vs. the cox ipg? what features do you lose and what do you gain? mostly, i just want to see what the interface looks like with cox and how easy it is to navigate. does cox work with the tivo very well?

@Aqxea Yeah, everything is working well. I'm going to be doing some videos about it near Halloween time. This way I can get used to it and give a fair review between the two devices.
