Look at the faces of the Marines in the Halo 3 Believe diorama to see how desperate and exhausted they were in the war, to have to fight Brutes and Hunters hand to hand because they no more ammo left. But they had to do it for humanity's survival and after the war there was only survivors in the millions.

@Abus3mentPark Valhalla isn't a 1v1 map, Guardian is. Plasma Pistols are a skill weapon. The skill weapons are the BR, Sniper, Beam Rifle, Pistol, and Carbine. Reach wasn't as good as the main trilogy by the way. It was good but as good as Halo 3, Halo 2, or Halo CE? No way.

When I finished studying I would spend hours playing Halo 3 but after the first few months of playing Reach I stopped playing it that much. I'm back to playing Halo 3 more and it's got a better feeling for me but of course I still play Reach. I think that Bungie could have done a little bit better on Reach,

I rememeber this song when it first played during the original warthog run back in Halo 1. Then when playing this mission in Halo 3 on the remake of the warthog run, it brought back a lot of memories and the same feelings i got while playing Halo 1. Now with Halo Anniversary, the remastered version of this song brings memories from both Halo 1 and Halo 3. Both great games!

Anyone ever get the feeling that in most of the pieces from the Halo soundtrack, we're actually hearing practically the exact same song repeadted over and over again with maybe a drum beat or two's difference? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic piece... and I thought the same when I heard exactly the same strings, note-for-note in "Warthog run", Finish the fight" and "three gates" too.

Not usually. They've often got some repeating parts of themes, but there's always (Or at least mostly) a big or subtle variation to it that makes it different. These are all the same damned song!

An example of something good that I'm also talking about it "behold, a pale horse!", it's essencially the same theme but with a very important series of changes that makes it FEEL like a different piece. More things like that, making some more defineable differences between the pieces, would have made this soundtrack all the more perfect.

These motifs are no exception in the halo soundtrack, which I believe makes it all the better. They're not the same thing exactly, but add a whole new variety to it, which is why when we hear it we go: Oh yeah, that's the halo soundtrack. Music pretty much is repetition with an added spice to it. If you want variety, listen to modernists

Thing is, I like the pieces such as "Behold a pale horse" because although it's got strings of the theme, it's still its own piece as well. It can still be identified through the same familiar sounds, but it's still quite different through how it's presented. However, "One final effort", "Warthog run", "Finish the fight" and several other pieces from the soundtrack are practically identical besides for how they open. Like I said, it's a great song, but it's still too repetative
