Type "ball lightning in microwave ovens" into google. First article, explanation of the phenomenon. The ball is running along the magnetic field created by the microwave oven's magnetron! Science is so cool.

To follow this up, the microwave blew up yesterday (15/12/08). I guess it wasn't helped by this experiment!
