What's gruesome is the impotent tin god idol of Arminianism who wants to save everyone but can't figure out how to do it. He has given them an autonomous free will that over rides His own will. Like giving a baby a razor blade, this cosmic dufus sits backs and frowns and shakes his empty head as they misuse the free will. He COULD stop them but won't violate their will. He loves them but created hell. Go figure.
@Blogrich55 Still better than having been designed, created, made alive and given feelings and emotions for the sole purpose of being damned. Go figure.
To ARMINIANS -Romans 11:32 "for God has shut up all to unbelief, that he might have mercy on all".
To CALVINISTS -1 Timothy 4:10"for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of ALL MEN ESPECIALLY y of those believing."
DOUBTERS I Cor. 15:23-28"But every man in his own order:..For He must reign until He has put all enemies under His feet..last enemy...destroyed is DEATH... Son also Himself be subject unto Him..that God may be ALL IN ALL"
Why is the prospect of universal conversion or at least a very large conversion to Christianity, in some sense, ignored? If God will have all men be saved, He is certainly capable of fulfilling His will. People are eternally damned in one sense in saved in another sense because they are new people in Christ.
@Drregaleagle God can certainly save any and all He wants. It is absolutely no problem for him to do so. However, the Bible speaks of both sheep and goats, wheat and tares, elect and reprobates. Will few be saved? If that is God's will. Yet many have not stopped to consider the millions of babies killed by abortion. Most Christians would think they are going to heaven. The number grows as we contemplate this sort of thing.
However only God knows who His elect are. Our job is to preach to all.
@ Not half so disappointing as the Arminian fiction which teaches Christ only died to make it POSSIBLE for the whole wide world (including, evidently, those already burning in hell) but did NOT guarantee the salvation of anyone.
@Graserassen My interpretation of the verse is rather obvious if you bothered to pay any attention. The whole world is used in opposition to the Jewish belief that YHWH and His Messiah were for them alone. Even Peter as amazed that God had decided to save the Gentiles as well. God bless.
@Blogrich55 Doesn't ihe word of GOD say " -They will secretly introduce destructive "heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord WHO BOUGHT THEM " and " -we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe "?
I have certainly had much difficulty finding a local reformed or Calvinistic Church to worship in. UA is indeed wide spread and insidious. God bless you.
"Rich I would love to have a chat debate with you or another phone convo if u are on right now I hate typing I have some questions for u." Lethalhabit
Here we go again using John 10:11 as to assume Jesus is talking of some elect,READ VERSE 9 NINE RIGHT BEFORE VERSE 11 JESUS EXPLAINS THE PARABLE SAYING "I am the door:by me if (ANY MAN) enter in,he SHALL be saved, and shall go in and out,and find pasture."So,in conclusion we find that verse 11 is talking of his sheep are ALL who enter in!!!!Come on this is sunday school stuff!!!!!STOP TWISTING SCRIPTURE!!!!
"Come on this is sunday school stuff!! Lethalhabit
Really? I don't recall anyone discussing this in Sunday School. But it is basic theology and simple exegesis. It is also a matter of simple, scriptralk, logical deduction. You continually fail to pay atttention. Yes, if ANY man will enter he shall be saved. There is nothing forbidding ANYONE rom taking the water of lifefreely
Yet that does NOT imply they have an ability to do so. May does NOT imply can! Only His elect sheep will be regenerated!
Explain this scripture to me please, WITHOUT TWISTING IT.
"We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:27-31)
Ummmm, my was comment asking lethalhabit to explain a scripture to me without twisting it. The comment was not directed at Blogrich55. Forgive me for the misunderstanding Rich.
"Ummmm, my was comment asking lethalhabit to explain a scripture to me without twisting it. The comment was not directed at Blogrich55. Forgive me for the misunderstanding Rich." Liz
Gotcha sister! I do have a video on it in the works. God bless you.
No Rich, I don't think you twist scripture at all. But lethalhabit seems to think you do, so let's hear him defend his accusation and lets hear how he "untwists" that scripture to get it to fit his theology. He did kinda shout it at you yewkno. LOL
LOL of course he is going to hinge his interpretation on the phrase those whom He foreknew. This is the magic escape hatch for the Arminian. It doesn't work though Liz. We know better. Let's see him try. God bless.
This is clearly taking the scripture out of context and saying the whole world means only the elect gentiles john would have said that if he meant that he meant anyone once again just like other passages that say the world!
"This is clearly taking the scripture out of context " Lethalhabit
Let us examine your idea: If the "whole world" meant the whole human race, then the phrase "not for ours only" and the word "also" are absolutely meaningless.
It would be a redundant tautology or saying:
"He is the propitiation for our sins and also for everybody." Better to have said simply, "He is the propitiation for the whole world" instead.
Yet John is pointing out Gentiles will be saved to as in John 10:16 and 17:20
You are the one taking it out of context,he is reminding all believers (his coverts thats why he says my little children) that it is not for theres only but for everyone!Let,s say your right for a second where do you take that verse and then say that he is saying ONLY a select few gentiles see what I am saying?
1. Jesus Himself, not John Calvin, Martin Luther, Charles Spurgeon, A W Pink, Lorraine Boettner, or St Augustine said that NARROW was the way that led to life and FEW there were that found it.
2. The preaching of the cross is foolishness to them who are perishing!
3. If the gospel is hidden it is hidden from those who are lost and the god of this world has blinded them.
4. There is a way that seems right to man but its end is death!
Rich of course you have to have Faith in Christ to receive the propitiation noone said you didn't.but the passage is saying it is available for the whole WORLD!
"Rich of course you have to have Faith in Christ to receive the propitiation noone said you didn't.but the passage is saying it is available for the whole WORLD!" Lethalhabit
How many times and in how many ways do Calvinists have to reiterate that due to the fact that we do NOT know personally who the elect are or are not WE preach the gospel to every creature? Find me ONE single solitary scripture forbidding ANYONE from coming to Christ or a Calvinist who so forbids!
This is what I look to when I preach God's word to the unsaved, knowing that the elect will hear it.
"The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed." (Romans 8:19)
I can tell you stories of my journey to salvation and looking back now, I am always amazed how I heard these words, but I hid that fact. Others do it too, so I know God keeps His promise in Isaiah 55 that His word will not return to him void.
Christ propitiated the wrath of God for all men without distinction. The Lord has saved some from every class: rich, poor, tall, short, men, women, ugly, pretty, young, old, and so on.
Christ did NOT propitiate the wrath of God for all men without exception.
