My Dearest aref9494, Just to let you know, a good friend of mine was on vacation in Scottlant last year where they paid eight dollars ($8.00) a gallon for gas. Just maybe we do not have the highest gas prices on the planet which negates everything you have said. Oh yes, Marlboros were eight dollars a pack, that I agree with.

These differences are due to taxes. European countries have very high taxes on gasoline and cigeretts. The oil companies due not make any more there than here. I remember when the Dems wanted to raise the price of gasoline to $4.00 per gallon by raising taxes. The message that saluting a flag is POINTLESS symbolism. You don't have to be a good person to salute a flag. You just have to want to look like a good person. By refusing to salute the flag, he may be refusing to follow a pointless tradition. I respect this!
