Yeah running a netlable and putting on gigs and releasing EPs every six months ... Texture is def. one of the main things holding back the hip hop scene in scotland ... LOL
Also, as a journalist who has celebrated ALL types of Scottish hip-hop in print and online since 2005, including NrnXpo, I find your divisive attitude incredibly disappointing. Seriously, David Guetta is doing tracks with SnoopDogg, and you have a problem with *my* shit not being real? Maybe if we stopped disrespecting each other's work and moved as a team of diverse, interesting artists, people would take Edinburgh hip-hop seriously.
I see you are a fan of Jinx and NrnXpo, clearly we have very different tastes. Each to their own. Personally, I don't think that the kind of hip-hop you seem so desperate to identify as 'real' has to be in conflict with the stuff you decry as 'art' - its a big world / city / life and there is room for everyone. Thanks for your snide, ill-informed comments though.
Thanks, as I said on your other comment, I did not go to art school. And thanks for dismissing all of Edinburgh on the basis of just one poem. Where are you from, out of interest?
This seriously made me cringe, & it's why we'll never be taken seriously in Edinburgh musically or in literature :( It's not clever (although it tries hard) & just reeks of art student wank.
