@coyotebird not really to the same extent though and not for centuries, at all. most irish came in the late 1800's and their poor treatment really only lasted to the 1950's, so about 60 to 80 years id guess. while blacks were enslaved for 200 years and then treated like shit up until the 1960's
not to mention the fact that the irish (or scotch-irish) that came in the 1700's were actually the group in power in the south and were often the ones owning the slaves (especially in TN, KY, NC and VA)
