@lilith3609 it's strong as most scouser's have irish roots too. i am proud to be an > 1/8 irish...i have a grt grandfather from my mum's side who hailed from Mayo & a grt grt grandmother on my dad's side who came from Eire too. i have the lovely green eyes of the emerald isle :)
Sorry, but I cannot accept this as a "Liverpool" song. Written in Ireland, by an Irishman, it mentions the city name and an un-named river. No local references. Could be anywhere really.
@gbj1941 i totally disagree...its about a feisty Liverpool lass...takes one to know one i suppose :) ps we are a rare breed & very deserving of a song lol
@EternalFlame1892 Oh, please; our Liverpool is a great place, but we do have our problems, one of which is that too many people believe we are ALL foul-mouthed and common. Your comment does our fair city No Good At All.
I've never heard of Natalie Marie. I agree with what you said about Eurovision being at it's best back in the 60s and 70s. That was when we had songwriters Bill Martin and Phil Coulter, who wrote catchy tunes. Those two KNEW how to compose a winning tune back then, and we ALWAYS finished in the top five!
Nah, not really. I watch a bit of footie now and again but am not "into" it nowadays, although I did watch the England vs USA match last night :D. Well, we needed cheering up after that joke called the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday........what a load of cobblers that was, right?
Yeah totally Annie, the Eurovision song contest was the best way back in the 60's and 70's. But today it's just lost it's talented artists, I'll say one thing. They should have some of those awesome Myspace artists on their, they would definetly make our countries feel proud. That's for sure, Natalie Marie for one. I would love Natalie to be on their, truly I would. As she's so talented and she's got a voice like an a angel.
Proud to be a scouser

Written by Dominic Behan, brother of Brendan Behan, and you can't get more IRISH (and less Scouse) than these two.
