do NOT shave the beard! It's such a shame that so many Wheaten owners don't follow the breed standard like Murphy's does. He's such a handsome guy - when Wheaties have the proper cut they are the most handsome breed of dog in the world. When they don't have a breed standard cut they look like mutts.

My Wheaten has so much love and personality in his eyes, it would be a crime to let the hair grow over them. Historically, the breed earned its keep by burrowing into holes after vermon. Thick hair over the face gave the dog's eyes protection. My dog doesn't have to earn a living that way and he really appreciates having his hair trimmed, especially on his face.

this clip is awesome. it makes murphy look the size of a small horse rather than a wheaten. Awesome tiny couch!
