  • COH is the best MMO I've played. Jack has made a great game and I continue to enjoy every issue. Way to go cryptic!

  • Heh. Jack is happily married with at least one child...sounds like someone is bored in the game from being PLd to 50. ;)

Jack is right. Players had the "I win" button previous to issue 5 and got bored real fast...

  • Heh. PLd to 50... sounds like someone is presumptuous enough to deduce(incorrectly) how I play given a few typed words. ;)

Jack is an ass. My problem is not with how the game used to be played compared to how its played now. Rather, I found his first few comments demeaning to the subscribers, and he didn't even properly address a fan's concern.

  • duuuhhhhh I win button... shutup and get laid

  • I think the key is to look at it in tiers. Spidey vs Minions equals a lot of beat up minions....rooms full and a basically unscathed Spidey.

Same situation with Lts means he works harder to beat fewer and might be a little beat up. A Boss might be his equal what Doctor Doom should be a team fight and a hard one at that.

I think someplace along the line Jack lost sight of that "feeling Super" concept.

  • The only problem with that is when Spidey beats up his umpteenth room of minions, is it still fun (since there is no challenge; and if there is no challenge, what's the point of doing it at all beyond the novelty of the first few times you do it)?

  • There are ways to make it a challenge without forcing players into face plants by having Gangers who can take out your Colossus style Invuln/SS tank.

Here is where Jack followed the standard cookie cutter MMO plan. Virtually every mission means combat. When players were 'solving' mission without combat, his Dev Team nerfed powers until combat was once again virtually assured.

  • It's tough. You expect a super hero to feel super, yet it's a game and it must be a challenge. How do you challenge players yet allow them to feel super? The two may be irreconcilable. MUO sure is going to try though, and I wish the dev team good luck. They have a wealth of experience to draw on from CoX.
