There are several factors involved, Yes.

Lights, Nutes, Grow environment along with ur growing skills those all are factors dude~! For the most part the smaller the pot the small the roots.

As for bweez100 you can use grow skills from the pdf book "Marijuana BUDS for less " by SeeMoreBuds during reflowering. google/torrent it. specifically to maximize yields using cfls. the best book on cfl growing! I got 8.6oz from NLxBB during 2nd flowering she stood just under 3ft..

Also Bro i veg for a long time like 8-10 weeks. This gives the girls time to increase resistance towards hermming, in the event of grow techniques used, prior to flowering and heat. As my girls were under like 30c temps.I did LST - Topping, re flowering. So anyone thinking of doing combination grow techniques, make sure you buy high quality strain seeds- giving lesser chance of Hermies. UK respect to the G-body

Yo Godbody, you talking about topping and topping and topping again? How long you give girl time to recover between topping? Also i told you about reflowering technique, little while back on my Northern Light x Big Bud? Well bro, the technique worked! i ended up with 8.6 oz. under cfl's, quality better than first harvest. the older your plant the better the smell, taste and smoke.i'm gonna do it again. what i should of done after 2nd harvest was reveg.

I have topped a smaller plant. You want to top when your plant has strong healthy roots and several nodes.
