All companions including his nephew Ali r, grandsons Husain r & Hasan r, daughter Fatima r, wives r, each one of them sought to follow the messenger. Messenger was their sole example. Messenger and Allah was like a hub for them for guidance, leadership, obedience. Every Muslm is supposed to do what they did. Stick to the messenger's example for obedience & success.

One last comment you to. Words have mutliple meanings depending on the context. For example, the word Bab means door, but if you read a book in Arabic, the chapters are called 'bab' also, and if you go to an old city that has a wall around it, the big gates into the medina's are also called 'bab'.

@ImKoolWithThis shies believe in everything a sunni believes in except the Caliphas. sunnis say that caliph should be chosen by consensus of the people, thats how the first caliph was chosen then he choose the 2nd and so on. however, the shies believe that Only Allah has thepower to choose special individuals t lead the Community (Imams)! these Imams are purified (Surah 33:33) so they are infallible, not cant but don't sin!!! e.g Imam Mehdi,there are 12 Imams in the Shia sect) ope that helps!

Heh? What about prophet Muhammed's family? Why companions go first, not the members of family? For me personally fact that members of family knew the prophet (SAW)the best makes more logic. And the fact that Ali (AS) should be the first Imam even more. Al-Thaqalayn says that Muhammad is leaving two important things to follow: Qur'an and Ahl al-Bayt which is his family to not to go astry. And I cannot see anything more clear in that.

The one narration that muslims use is that in which Prophet SAW said, i leave u 2 things, 1 is Quran and the other is Sunnah (the way of Prophet SAW). And this makes more sense. rather than simply saying Ahl e Bayt. We respect and honor them and being Sahaba RA the Ahl e Bayt are to be followed.

@adnanahmad23 There are many Sunni Hadits that state clearly that Ahlul Bayt at that particular moments were Fatimah, Ali, Imam Al-Hasan, Imam Al-Husain and prophet (saw) himself. Strange enough that prophet didn' ask anyone to write his way, manual of how and what let's say. That's why he asked to follow Quran and Ahlulbayt. Tradition can be misleading and changed. Hold on to Quran and members of prophet's family and you will never go astray. It look likes the message was not enough for ppl.

Is there a religious opinion of the first 3 Kaliphas that Soonis reject? No. You are essentially saying the companions are infallible since their religious judgment is always legit.
If u say the companions are fallible, how are u so sure their religious opinions are always correct? After all, you accept everyone of them.

How would you justify what Ameer Muawiya did then? He was after all a Sahaba of the Prophet of Allah. Making the Grandson of the Prophet of Allah surrender his right as Caliph, if these people knew so much, why do we time and again in the History of Islam discover atrocities by these very people. There is no reason to divide.
All companions including his nephew Ali r, grandsons Husain r & Hasan r, daughter Fatima r, wives r, each one of them sought to follow the messenger. Messenger was their sole example. Messenger and Allah was like a hub for them for guidance, leadership, obedience. Every Muslm is supposed to do what they did. Stick to the messenger's example for obedience & success.
Also, what ever existed before the messenger's eyes in the 23 years is the entire message Islam.

How ever, saying that Othmane Ibn Affan or other companions were prefered than Ali. I dont think so, because there a n authentic Hadith that tells that the prohet the peace uppon him said to Ali in front of other companions, yOU ARE MY BROTHER, MY Nephew, My son in law and my successor. The number of this category of traditions enormously increased between al-Shafi(d.A.H 204) and Ibn Maja(d.A.H.273).By his elaboration of the supreme authority of Hadith,Shafii placed it on par with the Quran itself,and when he made it the authoritative interpretation of the heavenly book,in effect he gave it a higher authority.God had made obedience to the Prophet incumbent on all believers,and there for what he said came from God as the Quran did.

we don't have to compare each other. We don't have to think like, I am right or you are wrong. We should always measure and correct it with respect to the common reference, the 23 years with prophet as the last messenger of Allah. When the groups or individuals compare each other, then they may or may not reach the right conclusion.

Authentic traditions are acceptable only because they have passed the strictest humanly possible criteria and, that they are irrefutable beyond a shadow of doubt.
We should always think in our hearts & minds as if we are directly listening to or observing the prophet and, as if see him sitting with his devout group of Muslims, and respond to situations in life, as if we are part of that group.
We should never detach ourselves in our hearts & minds from the prophet's life & sun nah.

Allah commands in Quran to establish prayers at the high level only.
We known the activities of salaat from the authentic sunnah.
The same principle works for other fundamental articles of faith from those 23 years when prophet as the last messenger walked the Quran.
Did the Muslims who lived & pass away as Muslims in those 23 years not learn from the sunnah of the prophet as the last messenger?
Who has approved the change request to this practice from those 23 years.

The Qur'an says that the Prophet only speaks the Truth and it is not from his desire.
The Prophet Muhammad said that the best Muslims are those of his generation and two generations after them.
He further went on to say that you can take your religion from any of them because they understood and practiced it correctly.
You suggest to only follow the Qur'an but the Prophet came with the Qur'an and Sunnah. The Qur'an tells us to pray, but not HOW to pray. etc.

When the prophet spoke (regarding Islam), it was revealed to him by Angel jibril which is a revelation of Allah,(NOT FROM HIS DESIRE) so it would be in the QURAN. The LAST & FINAL COMPLETE REVELATION OF ALLAH.

The Hadiths are a part of the Revelation. The total Revelation is the Qur'an AND the Sunnah, which are the Hadiths.
"And We have ALSO sent down unto you the Reminder and the Advice, that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them and that they may give thought." 16:44
The Prophet said: "I lave left with you two things, that you will never be misled after them. The Book of Allah and my Sunnah. They will not separate from each other till the meet me on the Hawdh."

1- First version, " I left for you what if you hold up to, you will never be misguided, the book of God and my Family.

This is the version made up by the Shiite Muslims.
2-Second version,
"I left for you what if you hold up to, you will never be misguided, the book of God and my Sunnah" . Muwatta, 46/3
This is the version made up by the Sunni Muslims.

This is the ONLY version that agrees with the repeated assertion in the Quran that Muhammed's message is ONLY the QURAN.

The Reminder and Advice is not the Qur'an in that verse because the Arabic says "Hikmah", which means the Sunnah of the Prophet.

One last comment you to. Words have mutliple meanings depending on the context. For example, the word Bab means door, but if you read a book in Arabic, the chapters are called 'bab' also, and if you go to an old city that has a wall around it, the big gates into the medina's are also called 'bab'.
And to you praying comment, do you even pray? I guess not in congregation since you would be the odd one out. Also, you would never be able to pray at Makkah or Medina, and not sit.

I am only replying again because I did misquote. The word in that ayat is Dhikr, not Hikmah. Though both Hikmah and Dhikr are used to refer to the Sunnah.
And I have listed the proofs against you, and you refuse to accept them and continue to ramble on about praying etc. You are the one who is guilty of creating confusion and trying to find multiple meanings of verses. Your meanings clearly contradict the way the meanings were understood by the Prophet and his Companions.
