The moves look flashy but that's pretty much it. He has some more realistic movies too don't get me wrong. He's really good. But a guy like Scott Adkins? Have you seen the fight choreo he does? It's too intense for Van Damme. Scott Adkins is a better.

Van Damme was many martial artists inspiration. His kicks influenced many people. He is not young anymore & it looks like he has difficulty with his scenes now. Scott was even influenced by JCVD. Fight choreography is more advanced today & kicks in movies have become more flashy thanks to JCVD who paved the way. Scotts skill is excellent. Watch him training, its called something like Scott Adkins becoming Boyka.Taekwondo blackbelt. I think he should train MMA for a year or so & go UFC.
