I think that's actually a leucistic buck: it's eyes are normal and it looks to have normal coloring on its face and nose. Leucistic animals are mostly or partially white, but their eyes and some other features are normal in color.

This deer is not an albino, he is just a white deer. For a deer to be albino it has to be all white, have pink eyes and no color at all. This is a very nice deer and I think more rare than an albino, I've seen albino's but never a white deer like this.

Not too long ago, a WHITE Red Deer was spotted in the highlands; (Scotland is where I live) I know that Fallow deer mostly appear white, I went to my Deer park and I saw lots of White and Golden Fallow Deer. God, I would love to shoot a white or golden deer if I ever saw one! XP I would celebrate my celtic roots :P and have a good meal! :P So heys from Scotland, happy hunting you guys :D.

where i live it is not illegal to take an albino. it is not common for hunters to do so though because it is considered bad luck. also you are removing a truly beautiful animal from the gene pool.

This is not albino as stated earlier. Its color is called picco. Albinism is genetically recessive. Picco is not. If it were an albino male this tribe would have a fair number of albinos. We have a few in central California and they are pretty east to spot (so we keep it a bit of a secret).

There are antlered does. They are rare and do not lose thier antlers like a buck does every year. Their antlers are usually smaller and are kept year round.

I disagree! This deer is not an albino! He clearly has brown hair on his face and you can also see some color in his coat. To be an albino his hair would be completely white and his eyes would be pink. In Wisconsin it is illegal to harvest an albino but he would be legal because of the color of his face.

This is an albino deer. It is actually illegal to hunt them in my area. Like averagebook said, that buck is no more than 2-3 years old. Obviously, steelers5aol, you dont hunt. One would know that the old bucks normally turn a shade of grey-brown and not totally white. And if a deer was that old, it would be much larger in both body size and rack size than this deer.
