  • I knew there was a reason I never heard of these guys.

  • best glam rock band that ever lived you were and always will be legends

  • gorgeous

  • Best Glam band ever,,,no one even close R.I.P. Brian and Mick

  • their band name SWEET is so appropriate for thses 4 sweet guys...lovely voices all of them... so how come they never became as big or bgger than QUEEN?

Bad management? what a tragedy..., considering the trash entertainers we get these days who are making the big bucks !! sad really.

  • @thornysubject Absolutely!!!. Of course always it´s a matter of taste and Queen was a great band, yet I listen to Sweet and I can´t help comparing them. Sweet were definitely BETTER in terms of vocals and in terms of lyrics and in terms of... they were just GREAT!!!!

  • Some of these clips were used in the Def Leppard video rocket. Apparently Sweet was an influence on them.

  • Cool songs~!

  • THE START OF THE SONG LADY STARLIGHT IS PRETTY SIMILAR TO THE BEWLAY BROTHERS BY MR BOWIE, LOOK THAT SONG AT 1:15, WOW!

  • OK. Lady Bowie Starlight recruited Mick Ronson lookalike. Pretty clever.

  • this is what i admire the most of these bands ( ambrosia , sweet) all of them can perform all the songs.this makes them great.

  • andys vocals blow me away

  • Lady Starlight is beautiful !!! Andy <3 Cool interpretation !!

  • i do not like this

  • Correction, the voice bag was used on "yesterdays rain" on the "give us a wink" album.

Consider that people in those days could sing unlike today with all the pitch correction. ..That technique did`nt exist back then. ;)

  • @warminator Anthony Keidis loooove pitch correction...lol

  • @flippyflyer Cher also....:))

  • In response to people thinking that the Sweet's trademark high pitched backing tracks were their real voices..... I am pretty sure that this was done with synthesizers.

  • You ought to be kidding. No synthesizers at all! This was Andys pure voice.

There was only 2 occassions where an effect was used : The "voice bag" on "first of july" and a pitch stretch on "lies in your eyes". Thats about it. Andy explained in several interviews that the voices are pure.

  • @dirtygirlof76 listen to the live show here... they are acoustic you idiot...

  • @dirtygirlof76 youre nutt is totally possible reach that tone pratice alot my friend

  • GODS!

  • Yes, Andy Scott is the High Falsetto harmonies you hear in all the songs. Great voice.

  • I still freak-out over the insane high vocal-harmonies on all these songs...someone said it was Andy hitting those notes ? So he's the one hitting the high-part of "...u get too-much u get too-high.." & the chorus of "Action"?

  • Steve also had a high falsetto voice....also he has MUCH MORE talent than Andy. PERIOD.

  • I heard he did all the vocals in the chorus of "Love Is Like Oxygen". Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • ♥

  • LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • ...e bravi i finocchioni!

  • Un commento di classe, complimenti

    :-(

  • The first "unplugged" video.

  • uumm yeah right....Elvis '68 Comeback was taped long before this...how about the country artists that would perform live with only acoustics?

  • the other lady starlight performance is probably the supersonic tv show one, which was really cool too

  • There was a "lady starlight" video with just Andy standing on a stage singing the original recording from the "Give us a wink" album. That was the best version by far...why was it taken off????

  • just type in Andy Scott Lady Starlight its back on Youtube now

  • Could somebody PLEASE upload clip that ghol8070 is asking for? We want it back!

  • I would like to know where about exactly where I can view the original video-clip for Andy Scott's Lady Starlight. That is the video-clip that was released with the song when it was lifted from Desolation Boulevarde, then re-vamped, then released as a commercial single. I had seen it here on You Tube about 9 to 12 months ago, now I cannot seem to find it.

  • aw andy is so sweet :)

  • :) you rock!

  • Andy was allways the "secret singer" in the background. All the high voices came from him.

Nevertheless, they were all great talents and the unique texture of the vocals they had is due to the combination. A four piece band who could ALL sing!

  • @warminator

yes, they all are/were good singers. thanks for putting this comment, i always wanted to know who the high voices did :D

  • @Caspisan its andy pay attention

  • @warminator I know right? I never knew that Andy was the one that sung the high notes in "Solid Gold Brass" until I saw the video!!

He really is amazing, as well as the rest of them. I miss the Sweet

  • Pardon the pun, but this is SWEET! I remember digging on "Ballroom Blitz" when I was like fkn 10, thanks, man!

  • ....what the hell is a "nub"?

    Their bassist is AWESOME!!!

One of a kind. Once and for all!!!

  • Andy Scott in my opinion must have the same range as Freddy Mercury, they have similar tones, the most under-rated amazing vocalist in rock.

What a coincidence of fate to have 4 such gifted singers in the band.

  • I´m from Brazil,Amazon.I've heard Sweet for the first time whem I was 11:They changed my life, years later I become a musician,a Heavy Metal lover.I agree, they're the best vocal group in the world, influenced manny other bands:Queen was one of them. All of them could sing as good as a lead vocal.Sweet is my favorit band, besides Led Zepp.

Sign Roosevelt Bala - Belém/Pará/Brasil - Stress' bass and vocal.

  • It doesn't need text to explain just how good this band were I am spending my time remininising great times of my mis-spent youth and the turbo charged three minute single that was Sweet- you rocked my heart cheers God Bless Brian and Mick and thank you to their parents for allowing me to enjoy their talent.

  • this is one of my favorite songs ever. their song "Dream on" IS my favorite. (Not Aerosmith you fools)

  • Mmmm....Sweet, Does anyone have the complete first clip of this version of lady starlight?

  • Hi,You can see a full length Lady Starlight right here on You Tube! Just go to Andy Scott"s Sweet - Lady Starlight! He is a bit older but a much better video!

  • Thats not hte live version... anyone the FULL live version of this ?

  • I have seen it here on Youtube, but I can´t find it again. But I tell you if I do, I´m going to keep searching.

  • I found the full version of Lady Starlight here on Youtube, it´s called "The Sweet Sixteens" and is three songs, Sixteens, You're Not Wrong and Lady Starlight.

  • andy scott, that voice and leather ! what more could a girl ask for.

  • I have become a huge fan of Sweet via youtube. Great musicians, great harmonies, and Brian, Steve, and Andy could all sing lead vocals. (Maybe Mick could too, I just haven't heard him sing lead.) I had not seen the Lady Starlight video before. Excellent post. Thank you.

  • now folks... THAT is harmony. Sweet was so fucking cool..

  • This is wicked! It's from the vid they were all promoting at Tower records Piccadily Circus in 1990.

  • Cool, thanks for posting! Never seen this before!! long live sweet!!
