  • So easy! Same for English and Continental, right? Sorry, that may be a dumb question...

  • The books always make it seem harder then it actually is, that's why I watch videos. Thank you for posting this.

  • Great tutorial! I'm trying to knit my first pair of socks, but got lost in the first few lines of instructions. The bit relates to the edging and it says the following-

"K1, yfwd, k5, sl successively 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th sts just worked over 1st and off needle..." I don't think I slip the stitches correctly, as the the "knits" became undone- I hope it makes sense...Any help here- much appreciated!!!! Zoe

  • Thank you! Your videos are so useful and I look at them every day when I need help.

  • This vid was helpful. I'm trying to make socks for the first time, and I'm wondering if you could post a video for how to turn a heel? It's complicated!!! lol.

  • Thank you for the video. I have a pattern that says to slip stitch all stitches off needle. Do I slip stitch and bind off?

  • Thank you!! I went through half a dozen books trying to find this and understand the diagrams and you explained it in 30 seconds. SHeesh!!

  • Great video! I'm knitting a scarf and the pattern says "sl 1 YO k3" so should I slip knit-wise or purl-wise?

  • I renewed my interest in knitting after reading loomknittingnow (.) com

  • Great video thank you so much! Only had to watch it once to understand completely what I needed to do!!!

  • Thank you! My pattern was vague and didn't specify which way to slip the stitch. Your video gave me extra hours of knitting!

  • thanks for the video! even though my book actually explained something properly for once, i wanted to see someone actually slip stitches knit wise and purl wise. thank you:D

  • this was so useful. and the demonstration is very easy.

  • Very helpful thank you

  • YOur videos are helpful and well-done, I've looked for videos on knitting at many sites in the last month or so (I just started knitting!) and yours rise above almost all of them! You have pretty hands as well. Thanks for your help!

  • Very helpful, thank you!

  • Hi! I'm trying to do a woven transverse herringbone pattern for the first time.

    My pattern says sl2 wyif

I can't figure out if I slip the stiches knitwise or purl wise and my pattern doesn't specify.

    Thank you

  • If it's not specified, you should slip the stitches purlwise, as this won't change the direction the stitches are facing on the needles.

  • @Sh4d0w3y3s I figured it out! It means with yarn in front (wyif = purlwise) and with yarn in back (wyib = knitwise). HTH

  • Thanks, for doing this. I wanted to make sure what I was doing, before I just took the stitch and took it off the needle. Seriously, I'm that stupid. I thought you just took the stitch and and into nowhere. But that sounded too stupid, so I checked it.

  • Thanks, all your videos are so helpful!

  • what a great video so easy to understand thanks so much. this is one of the stitches i needed to learn and you made it so easy

  • thank you ever ever ever so much, i had no idea what a slip stitch was....im just learning to knit

  • Thanks for posting this up. This so helps me know what in the was a slip stitch. Thank you again.
