Wow. Listening to Dan speak is as much of a gift from him as listening to him sing. Always a private man, yet he shares himself with me and has since the 1970's with his first album called "Home Free" through his lyrics. He is an amazing song-writer, instrument player, composer, sings like an angel, and hearing him talk is yet another gift Dan gave while here. Thanks to you, minstrelwinds, for sharing this gift to keep now that Dan is gone. I love this, and appreciate it so much.
I agree with you guys--Dan's voice is just awesome, whether speaking or singing. I love to listen to his singing with my headphones so there are no distraction noises-his voice is just so soothing. For me, his voice has always been perfection. No other artist comes close. Period!!! Still missing him and always will.....
@headcaseworker Not a day goes by. Now my good friend Steve is having the fight of his life at 37, have a football-sized tumor removed from his leg. It's never easy and it's never clear...
Love watching any interviews that are posted, knowing they are so rare. I find listening to Dan's voice, whether singing or speaking, kind of comforting, if you know what I mean. Its' that "get it" scenario once more.
@Sandandthefoam Still cant get enough of Dan!! I just found this interview and also love his speaking voice!! I am glad I am also one who "gets it" !! I miss him so much!! Wish I had seen him in concert for this tour in 1985!! He looks so great!!
Great interview, thanks for posting it! It's wonderful to see another Dan interview since they are so rare, plus it's nice to see a different side of Dan.
It's funny because I really don't like country music much, but Dan's music was a little country sounding at times, though for me Dan's music spoke more of the beauty of nature and the great outdoors rather than country or farm life which is what I think of when I think of country music. Just my 2 pennies...
I've just wondering why his widow don't release rare material of him til now on dvd?,,thanks for posting!!
