  • For a musician in a just starting band, that hadn't even released their first full album this is amazing. For any musician this is epic.

  • Miss you Andy RIP

  • This is by far THE best song on THE best soundtrack to one of THE best movies ever.

  • RIP Andrew Tru Tru only the good die young

  • what an amazing song combination. i love this. thank you. rest in peace brother

  • im so old

  • Wow, this brings back so many memories!

  • Good song but the best part of the song is from 00: to 2:00 the piano and the voice really hurts

  • @TheFernando0311 this is actually two songs put together for the Singles soundtrack.

  • @TheFernando0311 hey, 100.000 % right !!!!!!!!!!!! i´m cryin´and reapeatin´only that part .... when pearl jam plays that song it´s totally without that jazz /melancholy kind of divorce/suicide feeling, atmosphere

  • watch pearl jam 20.documentary.explains the whole scene around mother love bone and his death

  • love this song. "drugs suck man" - Henry Rollins.

  • Comment removed

  • tks for the quality upload!

  • How can anyone dislike this?

  • do ya ever wonder what pearl jam woulda sounded like with andy as the frontman....or maybe there wouldn't have been pearl jam without stone gossard and jeff ament. by the way have been jammin mlb since 89 n still rockin it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @1976hawke Pearl Jam wouldn't have existed if Eddie wasn't the frontman.

  • do ya ever wonder what parl jam woulda sounded like with andy as the frontman...........

  • Mother Love Bone was and will always be the aborted musical spirit that died on the cusp of what defined the grunge generation.

  • First Andrew passed, then Mia Zappata, the Kurt and finally Layne. I'm sorry if someone else passed I forgot to mention. Unfortunately some of the most brilliant minds are the most self destructive, with the exception of Mia of course.

  • what a beautiful song and voice. why do the best leave us too soon?

  • I'll never forget the first time I heard this song...it's in a class of it's own.

  • RIP indeed Andy Wood. Love this group.

  • Great song and great moving!!! brazillllllllll

  • I so Love this song. One of The greatest songs ever written!

  • r.i.p. andrew. shame the talent that's been taken away from us in this particular era

  • 10 people deep throated Kid Rock.

  • imagine the music andrew would be making today......only the good die young!

  • Ten people were dumped by Chloe.

  • growing up in the 80s and early 90s was the best

  • @eeb311 Thank you. So true.

  • @eeb311 and 70s :)))))))

  • That was such an awesome documentary ... funny how we all go out searching the songs ... Andy left a little piece of himself for us all to enjoy and remember him by.

  • just watched the pj 20 on pbs... what a sad loss.. love this song...

  • RIP Andy Wood.

  • I am instantly back in sophmore year of high school hearing this song. So freaking awesome.

  • If you knew this song was also on the "Say Anything" soundtrack, thumbs up!

  • Great song wrighter great singer great front man very deep very intense wow love ya Andy rip

  • Thank you ANDREW WOOD for everything ! R.I.P.

  • Is the Chloe Dancer part about a stripper? Because, I would REALLY like to know. I'm named after this song and I'm PRETTY SURE it's about a stripper but I want a second opinion haha

  • @Clolo1316 No, I think it's about a girl Andy met in a bar, in which he had a relationship for some time until they needed to separate; the second part of the song is about meeting her again a few years down the road, still as friends and moving past the relationship.

  • @Clolo1316 No Chloe is an `alter ego` of Andy`s love and fiance Xana La Fuente. A fantastic woman and a person who was with Andy until the end. You can hear her mentioned in another song Bone China where Andy sings `Oh Xana come back again`. You can be proud to have such a name. Xana is a role model, believe me.

  • @TheMaliciaD

Actually, "Oh, Xana come back again" is from "Stargazer". Incidentally, the line he sings before that, "dream of me and Julie Ann", if I remember correctly, is in reference to a stuffed animal he used to masturbate with. Not kidding.

  • @Fakename70 No idea what or who Julie Ann would be. Possibly a name for a child he wanted to have. Yes the line is from Stargazer (Tho Bone China is again about Xana, so is Gentle groove and Until the ocean even if Xana is not mentioned). But the bottom line is you are named after a fine woman and a legend in Seattle. :)

  • @TheMaliciaD

Yes, that's who/what "Julie Ann" refers to.

  • @Fakename70 17 years into MLB and I have never head that. Im sorry but I will skip this revelation. its not that important

  • @TheMaliciaD

I'd say it's about as "important" as you going on and on about which female names mentioned in Andy's lyrics are pet names for Xana. Just as you figured some fans might really want to know that info, I'm sure there are some just as curious as to who "Julie Ann" is. Especially since both "Julie Ann" and Xana are mentioned in the same song. The only reason I even bothered to comment at all 5 days ago is because you gave some incorrect info 3 weeks ago in response to Clolo1316.

  • @Fakename70 I wrongly provided the name of the song. It would be enough to correct me. I responded to Clolo1316 because she was asking about her name. xxx

  • Epic

  • Epic

  • Great tune.. great movie....

  • WAT THE HELL IS AN 8 TRACK?

  • @MikeBenedict1986 Way before your time sweetiebuns.

  • I will field the walkman question....once upon a time old people had a device that would play an object known as a cd..it was a bit bulky..but I am even to old to be explaining this..since In my childhood 8 track tapes were in existence..but thats a whole different story..prior to cassette

  • @MultiEvdawg what the hell is a cassette?

  • Eddie can take any song and make it fucking unbelievable. Both of these songs are great to begin with too.

  • Most amazing arrangement to come out of the musical genius "Andrew Wood" ~ i created a video for this song.. since there wasn't one..and i thought that was a great injustice. :) you can probably find it if you search youtube for username bentleyabc Respectfully im not "promoting" my 'video' here, so i will not post a link ...if you want to see it, you'll find it. ~ sharing the loverock.

  • @BelladonnaCure post the link please. for me :(

  • wow. 9 people missed the like button and accidently hit dislike.

  • Andrew Wood.. What a voice :D

  • i was thinking the same. especially in stardog champion. i can imagine why axle hated the grunge movement.

  • @craizedkiller69 Axl and the Guns didnt hate grunge. They covered Big Dumb Sex by Soundgarden! Guns and Fucking Roses where the Godfathers of Grunge.

  • Saw PJ 20 last night, WOW! RIP ANDY

  • @hollyenyc Where can i watch Pj 20?

  • @hollyenyc watching that rite now on netflix soo sick

  • @hollyenyc ive watched PJ 20 6 times. It gets better every time.

  • love this music. this real music

  • RIP ANDY!!

  • Epic tune, one of my fav's from my youth. MLB really had a great sound

  • super

  • if axle rose and chris robinson had a kid, it would have the voice of andrew wood!!

  • @stubhytime I like GNR, but Andrew Wood outsings Axl Rose by a mile. Such an achingly beautiful song. The line "A dream like this must die" is one of the saddest lyrics ever, for Andy and for what means to those of us who love the song

  • @badgernation74 oh hell yeah man 100% agree....this is one of the most moving songs of all time. and no doubt andy out sings axle!!! but the first time i ever heard mother love bone i made the connection rose and robinson at certain parts of the song and that makes wood a remarkable singer....long live andy wood!!

  • The song that gets me through everything, god love you Andy

  • god Andy Wood had one hell of a voice!!! R.I.P. Andrew Wood

  • some kid said i was mad for liking this song

  • real music, andrew wood a real human, very good song

  • Greatest song of all time

  • love this song do death!!!!

  • This is part of why I moved to Seattle. This much good music? They must be doing something right. Love this city

  • You know, what I think gets by alot of people cause it is so closely tied to the grunge period of time, is that this at the time (and to me was considered a hairband) and a underground band that was incredible... but was a hairband from Seattle. People loved this guy though and thought he was ready to hit it big, being that in 89' 90' Hairbands were still in their end of their popularity. Mother Love Bone is very flamboyant, and not a name you'd likely hear from the more "grunge" bands.

  • grunge is life grunge is feeling and emotions thanks to all the bands for the music and inperation

  • aaaaaaah !!!!! the memories ! paramount theater - moore theater - rock candy / Sound Garden - grunt truck - mud honey - melvins - nirvana - slam suzzane ( just to name a few ) - the sub pop label artists....... those were good times and a great time to be around the music scene. Last " REAL " music blast. nothing to get excited about since.

  • the bane, wishful thinking

  • I discovered that track back when i was a teen watching Headbangers Ball. It was the show's signature tune. I've just found out it was by Mother Love Bone. I've been searching for a long time whose song it might be and i'm glad i've finally found out. I owe it to Pearl Jam for having covered that song live which is featured on the forthcoming soundtrack of Twenty,a documentary on the band.

Take a look at this video: "Headbangers Ball MTV Focus 1994".

  • why are comments on these kinds of songs sad?

  • @valdivia562 It's a sad song. The 90s was the decade for sad songs.

  • @thetophus yeah true i just love they way they are sung though

  • I remember listening to this on a Walkman!! :)

  • @MasTriste what the hell is a walkman?

  • still get chills. 20 years later. xxxxxxo

  • Comment removed

  • This is still a good song!

  • Focus on this incredible piece of music instead of peoples comments............

  • WOW, WTF music is simply beautiful, soulful, individual and as unique as each one of us, no one can tell anyone what music moves each other, so wierdo talkin smack on someone enjoying a song that moves them you shut up you ogb old grey baster.

  • Want to see that video of that young kid playing the piano to this song. That kid was just so talented.

  • @NarcolepticAct Yes, yes it would, I think it would be awesome

  • what a time

  • I'd love to see Andy Wood and Shannon Hoon be in a band together

  • @BigRockMusicFan they were you idiot. its called nickleback. fucking dipshit.

  • @grungerobotnow What the fuck? Are you really calling me a dipshit, grow up. And it sounds like you are very belligerent, do you want Music to incorporate violent? And I just searched on Google the members of Nickleback, and I got the shitty ass radio rock band that I know of. That being said I dont listen to the music thats played on the radio, and both singers being legends that they are, why would they be in the band, "Nickleback" ???

  • @BigRockMusicFan holy shit im sorry. i was just fucking with you. i never wanted you to have to listen to nickleback. thats just cruel of me. hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

  • @grungerobotnow I never even listened to Nickleback those minutes ago... And the last time I did was maybe 2-3 years ago.. Are you trying to Troll? Because if so, YOU SUCK. And even if you did troll right you would still be annoying. Wait there is no certain way TO troll, because your trolling right now...

  • @BigRockMusicFan well its actually working because its wasting your time and making you angry.

  • @grungerobotnow @BigRockMusicFan YOUR BOTH TROLLS SHUT UP AND GET A LIFE!

  • @Indy7861PunkGrundge (yಠ,ಠ)y Y U SUCK SO MUCH??

  • @grungerobotnow Hmm, not necessarily, I think you failed, because you actually came out saying your trying to waist my time and trying to make me angry.... so yeah.

  • @BigRockMusicFan ya but i never said i was trying to be a troll. you did. i was misinformed as my grandma told me there was a super group called nickleback with members from blind melon and mother love bone in it. sorry.

  • @grungerobotnow Y U NO SHUT UP???

  • @grungerobotnow Fuck the pair of them. I'll bet neither of them were born when Andy OD'd

  • @DrJReefer so what if i was born after he was alive? Im not alowed to like music before my time? so you, probably one of the many people who say music today sucks, are saying i should only listen to music post 95'? go fuck yourself you bitch.

  • @DrJReefer lets not pretend you knew of andy before he passed. you didn't. get a life and leave that kid alone. pathetic.

  • @MegaTeddyballgame Ok, lets pretend I'm not nearly 40 and have at least a basic knowlege of the music of my era.

    If it makes you happy.

  • @DrJReefer which it makes it that much worse you are picking on a teenager on youtube. cyber bully nearing 40, your folks must be proud.

  • One of the greatest songs produced. The two separate tunes mesh together in perfection.

  • and this is my kind of love, the kind that moves on.

  • Man I miss Andy so much....

  • Wish Andrew was still with us..............M.L.B. had the potential to be BIG...................and I've always liked them a LOT more than Pearl Jam.

  • srbijo, slushaj ovaj bend! ! ! !

  • @FilthyCatHouse

    haha

  • This is the kind of music that will hurt your feelings & take your breath away with all the memories it invokes.... (gulp)... No matter how old you get to be...

  • i was named after this song. no joke.

  • EVERYBODY MISSES ANDY, WE'LL ALL BE SEEIN' HIM IN NO TIME.....

  • Incredible song.

  • Is this two different songs or whats up with the "/" in the title?

  • @csmzcs They are two songs, but they're sequenced together. This is how they were meant to be listened to.

  • @Darklord795 Ok thanks, man!

  • @csmzcs Sure thing!

  • I ask people if they know of any good dreamy psychedelic music and they said a bunch of bands that were not in the least bit psychedelic and somehow didn't mention this band. I had to find this band after years of looking for this kind of music What's wrong with people.

  • This is a song that has a forever quality to it. This song will never die. God Bless Andrew Wood, he was a true icon.

  • I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS I was looking at itunes rock charts They have an album that was just released on july 19 called " melodies& Dreams"- Andrew Wood But here is the bad news the sound quality is crappy and andy Doesnt sound very good due to the quality. But When I was Previewing the album I found a good couple of songs, "MY Star" To Praise it's Name" and the people review the album saying they didnt know who he was, weLL thats dumb CUZ IM FUCKING 14 AND KNOW WHO HE WAS! LOL

  • One of the best band ever my band Drunk'n Pumk'n loves Mother Love Bone.

  • @llloydy1 yup my generation sucks:( im glad they still sell 90s and 60s music and stores otherwise Id be screwed:(

  • Thanx Hrco85 for this upload. If you have Sigles movie soundtrack would you upload the entire cd with a simple jpg of the album cover. Much abliged.

  • What an amazing intro. Too bad Andrew Wood`s life was cut short. He looked to have a promising music career. The grim reaper hasn`t been kind to grunge frontmen.

  • Eight people are idiots....

  • This song reminds me of when my late fiance and I first started dating, she passed back in April and I loved her more then anything I ever have in my life. She was 40, and me 22, but we had a great apreciation for good music. She loved this song, she actualy named her first daughter Chloe from insperation from this song. I will never stop loving her, even if i live to be 100. Forever in my heart, love you Jennifer

  • I was turning into my early teens when this band changed my life forever. I am a practicing musician and this manmy hero! Andrew+"MLB" brought grunge on & inspired the seattle scene "Grunge" movement; the soundtrack of my generation! You are a true Stardog Champion bro-living what you sang about: us artists of the afflicted variety pay for our fame in blood as you, Layne, Kurt, and all the others did.You lived what you were singing about as did the others in the Grunge era & thats what I miss

  • I was born in '78 and grew up listening to 80s and early 90s music. When the grunge bands hit in the early 90s it was like a breath of fresh air. Suddenly all these awesome alt rock bands were getting mainstream attention. The thing is, at the time I thought the popular music scene would always be like this. Never though for a second this music would fade away and be replaced on the airwaves by pop and rap. The second half of the 90s was when popular music went downhill quickly.

  • @Sammyzuko I was born in '92, and when I was little in the mid/late 90's, I remember the last bit of that whole scene, and I thought life was just like that because I couldn't comprehend how decades were different, and I remember around 98/99 it started to change and got all glossy, and I was confused and thought it was a glitch in life because I thought life would always be like that, all alternative and guys with long hair, and then 2000 came and it was bigger than ever. I miss that 90's vibe.

  • @Sammyzuko yeah it sucks i was born in 96 so i missed the whole damn grunge era. I hope grunge makes a comeback. i hate all of the pop and rap "music" (if thats what you wanna call it) If you know how to work a computer to do all of the instuments and change your voice for you with autotune. You considered talented. that why i listen to 90s and 60s rock all of the bands i like acutally wrote their own songs and learned the insturments and didnt autotune their voice. autotune should not exist.

  • @Sammyzuko I have to grow up with fuckin' bruno mars and other mainstream " music "

in 10 or 20 years there won't be any rock, metal, punk music and so on ....

    commercial music sucks ... =(

  • @Atimo133 As long as rock and metal have to FIGHT for its existence, they will remain in their true form! Neither rock nor metal will ever die. Thats the fact you can't deny :)

  • @1337xavi

I really hope so ... I can't look in any direction without seeing, hearing something about justin bieber, bruno mars, rhianna and so on ...

Real music has got to come back !!!!!

  • @Atimo133

i don't even know who's rihanna or bruno mars. thats the way to go.

real music doesn't need to come back, cause it didn't go anywhere - it's still in our ears, in our minds and in our hearts! the true music with soul and balls that rocked 20 or even more years ago is still within your soul, just don't let anything dim it, and spread the music to other people :_)

  • @1337xavi

    wise words !!

  • @1337xavi wise words ....

  • @1337xavi yeah its a shame the future children can look back at this kind of music,, history repeats its self ,the past is always the best

  • @Sammyzuko Meh, post grunge hit mid 90's, so it wasn't all bad. I feel you on the rest though.

  • Bainbridge Island Rocks!

  • 8 people clearly like Justin Bieber and were 12 when they disliked this song.

  • 8 people are burning in hell as we speak
